Probaby a little worse on the RPI than the two spots we dropped yesterday.  That's the break of playing on the road against good teams, it would have looked nice on the resume but losing yesterday really did not hurt.  The downside is, we play a bad team (RPI 182) tomorrow and a home game (RPI 96) on Saturday, and the RPI formula tends to frown upon losing those.

I wonder how many posters on the Duke boards will come out of the woodwork to rant after a two week hiatus?

Duke almost always loses when they play on national TV, or at Cameron.

Maybe I should have verified whether either of those statements are true before I made them, but I'm a Duke fan and because I watched a game on TV that they lost I just had to come on this board and make a couple of "the sky is falling" type statements to make myself feel better.

This would be funny...but I don't think Miami has any fans...

That just costed them a future 1 seed....

How is there a bright side in this for MU/MU fans? Duke is in no way related to MU.

I think it's a little too early to say that. If they win the ACC Regular Season and Tournament Championship my guess is they are still a 1 seed. A lot of season left. Just like there is for MU.

I hear Austin Rivers wouldn't slap five with the Plumlees.

Duke doesn't have to worry about a 1 seed.  I see the early rounds games have Charlotte as a site and as usual Duke will be playing in their home state for their first two games.

What would Marquette's record be if we always played in Wisconsin (or even Chicago or Minneapolis) for our first two rounds?

yes, yes... I know Duke and UNC deserve to play in their home state every year because they are elite.  Why don't you ask Kansas and Kentucky what they think about "elite" teams always playing in their home state.

Small correction...first weekend games are in Greensboro.  Much closer than Charlotte, actually.  I hope MU gets sent there since I'll be in attendance regardless of teams, but then again I hope they don't because of the likely second round matchup against Duke or UNC in their backyard.  Duke and UNC won't have played there less than a week earlier at least, since the ACC tournament is in Atlanta this year.

You're right.... Greensboro.  I know you would like to see them but please no Greensboro!  We very well could play Duke or UNC at home. Though usually playing close to home would be good (in this case Columbus or Louisville) that could be dangerous with UK or OSU having home games as well.
