I think it's safe to say this team excels at "winning ugly." It's murder on the stomach and heart, but come March could pay off.
My concern is that Villanova and Seton Hall will not be playing in March.
Who cares...team is learning how to win "tight" games. Better to fight it out against a BEast opponent and not High Point or Mount St Marys.
If you only watch them play in the 2nd half they look just fine.

Bad teams win when they play good. Good teams win when they play bad.
They just keep coming. I don't think one block-charge call went their way. Not a great shooting night. Turned the ball over way too much. Did not have Gardner to throw the ball in to when they needed a bucket. Still, they grinded/ground it out. Great win. On to the next one.
I love the win. I'm worried of the trend.

Wisconsin wins ugly, This team is exciting to watch, sure they have their poor stretches, but going from 6 down to 10 up in a few minutes of time isn't ugly. Did you see blues alley oop dunk, it wasn't that ugly
Exciting...yes, very. However exciting doesn't equal beautiful. Tonight's game was ugly as have been a number of our BEast games. Nothing to be ashamed of, embrace it.

There's one game every season where the refs seem like they're out to get us. I know that's not the way it is, but it seems like it. Tonight was this year's game. Every block/charge went SHU's way, they let contact go under the hoop when it would have helped us. If that was the one "refs kill us" game, we picked a good day for it.
We didn't play all that well, but SHU is a mess right now.

Couldn't agree more. Frustrating seeing every call go the Hall's way. Good to pull out the W.
I'm pretty sure it was after the overtime win at Seton Hall in 2010, the third road win in a week all in OT by a total of 6 points, when Buzz said in the postgame interview, 'you think my tractor's sexy now, huh?' Because after previous games he and Homer had been comparing the games to tractor pulls.
Those games were low possession grinder games. 'Margin for error is zero' games. When this team plays ugly, they are still not that ugly.
Also, after that road trip, MU came back home and destroyed Louisville by 21 and Buzz did the dance. Don't think this team has won ugly enough to earn the dance yet.
MU has played two 40 minute games all year. Ole Miss and Wiscy. The bad news is that it is infuriating to watch. The mixed blessing news is that they are very good at playing through adversity. They could very easily go 2-3 over their next 5 games, even if they play relatively well. Take the 19-4, 8-2, accept that there is very rarely going to be an aesthetically pleasing game from this team, and get ready for the rest of the grind.
The constantly changing parts of the team due to injury, depth, match-ups, fouls, Buzz--all of the these--make it harder to find a tempo and thus it looks ugly. Yet when the timing comes, usually in transition, it is deadly to the opposition and the crowd joins in, at least at home. The Blueman got it started this time but others have done it too.
