Found this on ESPN tonight. We only had three McDonald's All Americans in our history. I still think there are some gaping holes in the selection of these guys on a year to year basis, but this is a nice recognition for Doc and Marquette.

This list looks like it was picked based on what they did AFTER high school. Shouldn't they pick it based on what they did in high school?
The complete list of each college

I'm so glad that Todd Mayo was not a top HS player.
Some real underperformers on the list (looking at numbers since '77 only):
Georgia Tech with 18 AA's yet only two Final Fours (1990 & 2004)
Notre Dame with 14 AA's yet only one Final Four (1978)
Texas with 13 Burger Boys yet only one Final Four (2003)
St. Johns with 13 AA's yet only one Final Four (1985)
Iowa with 11 yet only one Final Four (1980)
On the flipside...
Houston with only 2 AA's but three Final Fours (1982-1984)
Oklahoma State with only 2 AA's but two Final Fours (1995 & 2004)
Sometimes there aren't enough minutes or basketballs to satisfy those egos. I'm one that can live without McDonald's All Americans unless the kid is tremendously grounded, or we have a coach that can keep his ego in check while not making it a problem for everyone else on the team.
Curious question for anyone who may know. Did Austin Rivers(Doc's son) ever consider coming to Marquette?
