Title: A few nice MU ESPN mentions...

Team that impressed:  "Marquette: The Golden Eagles have leaned heavily on Darius Johnson-Odom and Jae Crowder. And it's working since the loss of Chris Otule up front. Marquette is alone in second place in the Big East after sweeping South Florida and winning at Villanova. "

King's Observations from the Week: "5. Marquette could win the Big East. Don't get me wrong. I'm not predicting it will happen. But Buzz Williams' squad has been the league's steadiest team behind Syracuse. The Golden Eagles are 7-2 in conference games; the Orange are 9-1. Marquette, though, appears to have an easier schedule down the stretch. Just two of its final nine games are against ranked opponents (Connecticut and Georgetown), while Syracuse still has to play Connecticut and Louisville two times each along with Georgetown. Again, I'm still predicting Syracuse to win the Big East championship, but Marquette is good enough to make it an interesting race. "

Places to be this Week: "Saturday.  South Bend, Ind. (Marquette at Notre Dame): For the first month or so of the season, Mike Brey's Notre Dame team appeared to be in a classic rebuilding year. A few weeks later, Notre Dame is sitting at 6-3 in the Big East, with recent wins over Syracuse and Connecticut, the latter of which came in Hartford on Sunday. In other words, this game may have seemed relatively easy for Marquette -- at least as far as road trips are concerned -- at one point in the season. This is not that point. "

Shouldn't that be "winning and South Florida and sweeping Villanova?

I know, I know, this is a "the Germans bomb Pearl Harbor" moment and we should just go with it.  (is the reference lost on anyone under 40?)

No.  We all really love Kate Beckinsale so we all know that it was the Lycans that bombed Pearl Harbor.

I think it was lost on the over 40 generation...Let me help.  Kate was in Pearl Harbor (2001)...you may have missed that because Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett were also in the movie.  Seeing how the above poster was asking the under 40s if we understood something that was taught in 3rd grade social studies (not just the actual history but the phrase itself which was either History or English) then I was going to equally dumb it down by pulling in an Underworld reference which Kate was also.  I did so to joking imply that even if we didn't learn it in third grade we probably would have figured out having seen a really bad movie.

Good for you.  None of the under 30s in my office have seen Animal House.  You are not a complete person until you've seen it.

More good press.

Power Rankings by Dana O'Neil

2. Marquette: It is time to give the Golden Eagles their due. Marquette lacks the pizzazz of some other names in the league, but this team is rock solid. Darius Johnson-Odom won't let the Golden Eagles stray too far off script.

You need to find a new place to work... (Or fire everyone in your office if you're in that position)

That's just sad...

If you can't appreciate the greatness of the Underworld movies because of Kate Beckinsale in tight leather, then there's not much that can be done for you.

Sounds like a rough workplace. The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is you.

Who hasn't seen Animal House honestly? Im 26 and don't consider myself special for having seen it among my contemporaries.

Meatballs.   The whole adult-male-hanging-out-with-a-teenager-alone-and-after-hours vibe would be seen as icky today.
