Hey, long time lurker, finally made an account, but still don't post much. Hope you can still help 8-). I'll be making my first trip to Milwaukee to take in a concert, then perhaps an MU game the following day. My buddies booked at the Ambassador Inn (not the hotel), and I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on the place? It's supposed to be right near the convert venue.
Thanks!
it's right across the street from the Ambassador Hotel and it's really nice actually. some prefer the Inn as opposed to the Hotel because the rooms come with a fridge and microwave. i had family stay there once and they loved it. rooms were nice and simple.
Dude, stay at the hotel. Request the Dahmer Suite. Worth every penny.

Its nice, nothing fancy, and about 1-2 blocks from the rave. Last time we stayed there, the band was also staying there and we got to meet them.

C'mon 4ever. Marquette guys now own the Ambassador. They put millions into it and made a bet that they could turn the very tired old lady back into a beauty. The Hotel is once again a grand property; and the Inn plenty decent for a night or two. I support by Marquette brothers with my wallet every chance I get.
I stayed at the Hotel the weekend of the UWGB game, won a couple free nights stay last season when they had that text promotion during games. It was really nice, and the brunch is excellent. Haven't stayed at the Inn, but we were pleased with the Hotel.
Don't check the freezer in the Dahmer suite
I miss $.25 beers at u-pub.
I have stayed at both. The Inn has basically the same furnishings as the hotel. You also get basically the same amenities as the hotel (free shuttle, free parking, very friendly staff, etc.) No matter which place you are staying, the Ambassador takes good care of their regulars and I have gotten upgraded several times without even asking - even on a basketball weekend.
My only beef I have with The Inn is that they have a couple of rooms that don't have a closet - not even a clothes rod. I was assigned one of those rooms once. I would not have minded if I was traveling with just very casual clothes, but we were in town to attend a formal event and wanted to hang up our nice clothes. Fortunately, they were able to give us a different room without a problem.
Thanks for the responses everybody! Sounds good!
Saw this if anybody is interested for the Ambassador Hotel.
