It's challenging to find good pizza places in the Midwest in general. Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Louis, really lack good ones.....if you look hard enough you can find some okay ones. Any pizza of course is good. St. Louis has a few good ones, again not a ton or many....one of which is right at SLU's campus actually.

Having grown up in the Southwest I got to watch a lot of Utah basketball first hand and I can tell you Majerus would be an outstanding grab for SLU. Of course, in the back of my mind I can't help but think that his going to SLU only means that he would be better prepared to jump to MU should Crean ever leave.
But I have to tell you the other name being thrown around, fellow ESPN Analyst Fran Frachilla (formerly of St. John's and University of New Mexico), would be a total disaster. At UNM he single handedly took a program that regularly had 20-win seasons, a top-3 mountian west performer with decent rankings and RUINED the program which still hasn't recovered. This is why the regents at UNM threw close to $1M at Steve Alford to fix the mess. SLU fans need to nip that one suggestion in the bud before your AD gets any ideas.

I grew up in Chicago area liking deep dish with lots of cheese but graduated on to crispy thin crust. I wish we could go out and have a pizza with Rick. I'm sure it would be entertaining and tasty! I think the guy is a great coach as much as I didn't like him when I was at MU. I would love to see him stay in announcing for his own health. There is no reason he can't do a big mans camp or something during the summer. It would be perfect to get him and Nelly together for something like that.

These words can only be spoken by people that have never lived in Chicago or dont like pizza. You can get a good thin or pan all over the area but have to search up and down to maybe find a good place anywhere else in the country.

Have lived in Chicago many years. Not a great pizza town imo.
You must either have the highest standards in the history of mankind for pizza, or you simply haven't eaten at a pizza joint that is not a huge chain.
You are entitled to your opinion certainly, but I must say that you are a probably in a minority of one on that issue.
What cities have better pizza than Chicago in your opinion?
New York. Several cities/towns in Connecticut, some other places.
I like all pizza, don't get me wrong. Not a big fan of deep dish or stuff, or cracker thin cut in squares.
I like a light airy crust, prefer coal oven, doesn't have to be though. particular about some other ingredients.
I still eat pizza in Chicago or Milwaukee or wherever and try to find places I like more than others.
I really don't care if my opinion is minority or majority. It's what I prefer.
Lousy pizza in St. Louis, but great toasted ravioli! St. Louis has, for a town its size, great restaurants. Rick would like St. Louis, except for the heat of the summer and then he'll be back in Milwaukee. I hope he takes it, it will nice to have another "classof70" in town! ;D

St. Louis doesn't have great pizza. If you search you can find some....Milwaukee imo isn't a good pizza town, and definitely not a good Italian restaurant town imo.
Milwaukee would be better served with more seafood, Italian and other eclectic styles instead of a Steakhouse on seemingly every corner.
