How they voted: AP poll (Week 11)
Sorry I've missed this the past two weeks (if you even noticed), but I'll try to keep this a regular weekly feature from here on out.

I really enjoy this, thanks Tom.
It's interesting, a lot of people here get on Seth Davis' case, but he ranked us higher than most other people. It's also amazing that nobody ranked us higher than 12, even though we were ranked 10th in the country not too long ago. It just goes to show how fickle voters are from week to week.

Well, when we were ranked tenth, the team was 10-0 in week seven. Between then and when the latest poll came out, the team went 4-4, including two losses to unranked teams. Given this, I have a hard time buying your theory of fickle voters.

You could argue that the team now is different than it was when they were 10-0 without Otule, but for the most part the team is the same. I'm just trying to point out that rankings have very little to do with the talent of a team, but more with "what have you done for me lately?"

Isn't that how it should be? Otherwise, there's not much point in updating the poll.

Of course. I just wish it at least appeared that the voters were watching the games, not just voting on whether a team wins or loses in a given week. Teams in the top 10 don't fluctuate nearly as much, probably because voters watch them play more often and know what type of talent they have on their teams.
