Title: Seth Davis article
Post by: Lighthouse 84 on January 16, 2012, 05:55:54 PM
From Seth Davis article:

• The word is out that Marquette point guards Junior Cadougan and Jamil Wilson can't shoot. That means defenses can sag off them and help out on the other dribblers. And if Marquette can't drive, it can't beat good teams.

He's right.  Then throw Vander and DWil into the mix.  Good to see VB hit a shot today and Jr. hit the shot from the elbow.  They are going to have to step up and hit a shot here and there to open up the rest of the scoring.

I assume he meant Derrick Wilson since he said "Marquette point guards," but obviously didn't do enough research to get the first name right.  Junior's actually been shooting decently this year so I wouldn't sag off of him as much.

Junior takes, and hits, enough to keep defenses honest.

I think the word is out that Seth Davis doesn't do his homework well enough to know the difference between Jamil Wilson, forward and Derrick Wilson, point guard.   :-[

Maybe Seth meant Michael Wilson.

Woodrow Wilson, Harold Wilson or Wilson Alvarez.

Further Seth Davis wisdom:
"I also wanted to rank Vanderbilt, who I think is the most undervalued team in college basketball, but I just couldn't find them a slot.  (I must say that it galls me to rank Marquette even though it lost at home to Vandy by 17 points.)"

MU fans must be getting to him if he continues to rank MU, even when it galls him.  Poor boy.

He was probably too preoccupied with his little fantasy to do any research..

Yeah, sag all you want off Junior. I've got no problem with him shooting wide open 3s.
