Congrats to the Warriors for a 3-0 home stand that, let's face it, we really needed. Now, it's on to Providence. That's a game not to be taken lightly - they dismantled Loserville. If we get by that, USF @ home should be doable, the game @ Nova should go in the W column unless Jay Wright figures out a lot of things in a big hurry. SHU then comes to MKE - they have not been a great road team in the BE this year (1-2), Is 8-2 very unrealistic???
winning the next 7(10 straight overall) has been realistic but you never know with this team, this league and road games in general. Holding serve at home is the 1st key(done that so far). We need to beat insuperior teams(Prov for ex) on the road and steal a road game vs a team we are fighting with........and we will get a double bye.
Most had high expectations of going 3-0. Feels great to meet those expectations. At this point just hoping we can pull out a road win at the Dunkin' and that we're prepared for a Providence team that actually plays defense unlike past years.
If this team plays to its potential and learns to play a full 40, it will be VERY dangerous come March. Right not they are still learning how to play without Otule, but you can see that the confidence is growing every game. Having a record of 15-4 half way through January ain't bad at all.

Key to success in the BE is defending the home floor and beating teams on the road that you are supposed to beat. So far this year we are 4-0 at home and have played two of our three toughest road games. If we protect the home court the rest of the way and beat the teams on the road that we should beat (DePaul, Nova, Providence) we should be able to get a double bye for the BET.
I'm still looking at this as a 10-game stretch, and feel we need to win 8 to be successful. Providence will be tough, they're improving and are no longer a pushover at home. USF I'm pretty confident for, but they tend to play us tough (though more often at their place). It's the next three that worry me most. 'Nova on the road, SHU at home, then Notre Dame. All very tough matchups.
Still, I feel much better about this stretch now that I'm hoping for 5-2 or better in the next 7.
