Crowder with the cheap reach in at half court on Siva after he picked him at the baseline.

Slow start for MU again. smh

Post by: nyg on January 16, 2012, 02:39:42 PM
1 on Crowder now.  How would you guess that.

That over extending/double team defense gives up another wide open 3.

Here we go again, down early.

Let go boys....

Our offense is so bad. We started rebounding fine until that 3rd chance possession

About to get blown out.

We are a joke. Just jack up 3s repeatedly then allow the other team to shoot wide open all game.

DJO is just finesse. He tries to make it look good. Like that Dieng block (which was impressive), come down with the ball and then draw the foul. He tried to make it look good in one move. Result? Block.

Key to second half is getting Dieng with 3 fouls.  Doesn't look like Buckles is returning and without Kuric, MU should be fine.

After getting hosed on a few calls in the first half, last few have gone our way. Jae's charge & Dieng's 5th.

Need to keep pushing and wearing them down. Looserville doesn't  go deep with their bench.

Agreed but his awful shooting makes him believe it or not the one i have most faith in during this type of game.....because we know hes not going to hoist a 3 with 30 secs on clock like DJO, Jae and Todd.

Love the killer instinct.  Pulling down boards, taking scoring opportunities behind the press, the 3 dagger-AFTER a quality paint touch.

34 minutes of strong basketball.  Thats about as much as much as you can hope for.  Except maybe Len Elmore not saying a word during those 34 minutes...

Didn't see the gesture until after the T.  At first I thought it was a lame T for goggles, but no need for that and T was warranted.

Two throat slashing moves directed at the L'ville bench, accompanied by mouthing "it's over" to earn the T. Gotta say he seemed not just to be talking trash but to be genuinely cheesed about something.

Going back to 2003, it has become dangerous for either team to have a huge lead (outside of when Diener was hurt).

There are probably 35 teams that are switchable from 10 to 45 in the rankings.  On any given day these teams can look really good or nothing special.

I am not a Jae Crowder fan, and I thought the throat slash was unnecessary, childish and stupid, but....

.....that dude was a BEAST today. Wow. Gardner played well, but Crowder was dominant. There was a ridiculous stretch where every big Marquette play involved Crowder at the center of it.

So are you saying you were right, the game was over after 5 minutes? It was a stupid, reactionary, and emotional overexaggeration to a terrible, terrible first 5 minutes. It's like some of you forget how often teams make a run in basketball (especially in MU games--on both sides).

Yeah, I wondered the same thing.  Is he trying to support his argument that the game was over in the first five minutes?

Calm? Rational? This is all about our very deep and, for many of us, very long emotional commitment to Marquette basketball. The time to calm down and think rationally is after the game. And even that isn't easy.

No, but I guess I just got to my tipping point. Way, way too many people jump off the deep end when MU has a bad stretch of play or drops a game or two. It just gets really annoying. Of course, that's the only time a lot of people post (not HeywardHeroes or Mviale though). Easy to complain when things are going great, but a lot harder to make positive posts when things are running smooth for some reason. Maybe people are a little spolied.

Agree 100%.  Lots of posters only show up when things are bad and are conspicuously absent when things are good.  I think it was Sultan that called them "Eeyores" in a thread a while back.  That's not a bad nickname for them, but I think Eeyore is way more upbeat and positive about his lot in life than are our negative friends.

Just read the thread after watching the game on DVR.   Guess we haven't learned that the game is 40 minutes.

One other observation....at almost every opportunity, the cameras were on Pitino.  Does he have a special deal with ESPN?  It was kinda weird.
