Title: St John's game thread

Good god, were stuck with Laphonso Ellis again.  He was a pain in the arse during the Gtown game.

Ticky tac fouls on Crowder early yet again.  Why is he such a target for refs?

Get ready for another high five controversy with Crowder dissing Cadougan.

Yup, Junior two turnovers.  Yup, Crowder again two quick fouls and he sits, probably for half.

Vander on Harkless is going to be interesting.

I wouldn't call them ticky tack, I'd call them stupid. He was out of position and there was no need for him to commit them.

SJ playing zone.  No outside shots made.  DJO is non existent again.

Now DJO out.  Bring on Jamail Jones and Anderson and the rest of the second team.  This should be fun to watch.

Nice shots there by Blue, Jones, Wilson and Junior.  All bad misses.

Then the Harrison kid MU was in on hits two bombs.

9 minute mark and no outside shots made.

Whoops, Wilson has 2 fouls now.

12 points in eleven minutes, come on boys.....

Our guards are among the worst on-ball defenders in the BE. Why would we press 30 feet away when all it takes is one burst of speed to get a layup?

Lets pass it around the zone for 28 seconds, then drive and commit a charging foul.  That will work.

Way to play against the zone MU.

Anderson, Blue and D Wilson on the floor, who scores????

DJO, Jae, Jamil all have two fouls...and we are within two.  Buzz is gambling that it can be kept close in the first half, so they can go full bore in the second.  And he's about three minutes from being able to do that.  Davante is saving us right now.

DJO and Crowder had better show up in  the second.  Someone should kill the power, we could use a delay to let Gardner rest up.  Carrying 270 of his own weight plus the entire team on his back has to be tiring.

MU moving the ball well against the zone but seems no one can pull the trigger from perimeter. I think MU's defense is playing pretty poorly especially in transition.

Pitt getting slammed at home.  Really got to become a team on the upswing and rack up wins against the teams that have lost it lately.

Just wore down SJU in the second-got Harrison out, did a good job of avoiding the foul trouble and unleashing the pent up energy that sat much of the first.

Can we give buzz a little cred for a good job with the game management? When DJO had to hit the bench, we got down by 6 and the game was getting out of hand. Buzz went back to the starting line up for about three possessions to get the game back in balance and let the bench ride to half about tied. I thought that was a smart line up management.

Agree completely.  Had to bring them back to keep in close.  And none of them picked up their third.

Pitt getting slammed at home.  Really got to become a team on the upswing and rack up wins against the teams that have lost it lately.

Just wore down SJU in the second-got Harrison out, did a good job of avoiding the foul trouble and unleashing the pent up energy that sat much of the first.

Pitt won't put up 40 tonight. Really stifled on offense.

Hoping Warriors can roll this second half into a great opening 10 minutes on Saturday. Could knock a lifeless group down early.

Anyone know how many minutes DG got total?  I agree that it seems like he has been playing more and more.

After losing at home to Rutgers by more than 20, and losing to DePaul, Pitt might be the last place BE team.

When he is gassed, he short strokes his ft's. Didn't see that tonight.

Wasn't there a thread about why we love gardner?

Yeah, believe the gist of that gem was that Gardner was "lazy", didn't get back on defense, or rebound.  DERP.
