Unbelievable performance last night by KB24, granted the suns don't have a defense, but the way he was shooting was phenomenal. Really took me back to watching MJ. Still 48 points for a 33 year old man with torn ligaments, burnt out knees, not bad in my book.
He might have had a great game last night but Kobe is, was, and never will be, in the same class as Michael Jordan.

He has always been pretty close.

He's the second-best two guard in the history of the game, but he's well behind the first.

The gap between Kobe and Michael is insurmountable.
LBJ is the only player with the talent to touch that plateau, but he'll prevent himself from doing so.

We'll whenever people continuously compare you to the GOAT (in my opinion) you can't be doing to bad. I never once said Kobe was better than MJ, however I don't believe i will see another player who compares to what MJ use to show me every night.
Today everybody is friends with everybody, doing dances together, gettin' jiggy wit it, poppin' bottles, whatever you want to call it. Kobe and MJ hated(s) the competition on the court. I don't believe we will witness play like this again, or for at least a very long time.
Kobe is also similar to Michael in that it seems every offseason he comes back with a new move or style development, largely related to coping with his age. He developed a back to the basket game and has become increasingly tricky and clever in his fundamentals to deal with the fact that he doesn't have other worldly (comparatively) athleticism anymore. If Lebron worked on developing his game in the offseason as much as Kobe, he'd be untouchable.
