I still think we're a top 25 team.
We will fall out of the top 25....two really bad halves of basketball in two games (and two really good halves). Anyway, I say we fall out but not for long if we continue to play like we did in the second half at Syracuse.
Not a chance. We have to force pollsters to put us in the top 25. If we give them one bit that we don't belong, we won't be there. We are going to have to win 4 straight to get back

I think so too, but the voters won't.
We will fall out this week, but if we take care of business at home next week we will be ranked again in two weeks.
No way...not after West Virginia beat G'Town today

Don't know about finished, they may fall out, but finished? A lot of the teams, though, near and below them also have lost. Not necessarily to Top 10 or 15 teams, either.

The #20 team goes on the road, leads most of the game, and loses to the #9 team by 3points. Then #20 loses to #1 by 7 points on the road. Just what is supposed to happen based on those rankings. The argument can be made the #20 should move up based on how #19-1 play that week.
I think we're a top 30 team. Can't finish, when you get blown out in the first half and put up 19 points, it really don't matter how much you lose by.
We will not be ranked.
We will, 9 teams ahead of us lost this week and 2 teams behind us lost. I think we should move ahead of Mississippi St. and Wisconsin.

I hope that you are right, but I think that pollsters will see three losses in four games and think that its a trend without looking as close as they maybe should at the quality of the opponents and place of the loss, especially when the first loss was at home to a (currently) unranked team.
I can't give a top 25 vote to a team that continues to play 20 minutes of top 15 ball and 20 minutes of sub-200 ball. Fix consistently inconsistent and we can be pretty good, but we're not now you less you pick the good halves and ignore the godawful ones.

I find that logic interesting to say the least. By that same logic Georgetown and Syracuse (not as much syracuse) should not get votes. After all Georgetown only played 20 minutes and we outplayed Syracuse for a long time.

Wish it worked like that. But a lot of the voters never go out of their way to think Marquette is a good team and go the easy way out and take the safe way out. Everyone sees 4 losses. Also with all the close games we've had the past few years it's safe to say no voter cares if we lose by 1 on the road and a 20ft fade away. No voter will say I'll give them a vote because they stayed with the #1 team.
a bunch of ranked teams lost on saturday to unranked opponents. we will drop, but losing to the number one team in the country at their place won't bring us down too far, maybe 22-23.

Don't look at the teams ahead of us, look at the teams behind us. Harvard will drop. K-State lost but will climb on the Missouri win. Virginia, Creighton, and San Diego State will all climb. Gonzaga, St. Mary's, and Vandy all have a shot to be ranked in both polls.
We'll drop, but I'm not sure how far. Probably 24-26. We'll either be ranked, or just outside. Either way, if we beat St. John's and Pitt this week, we'll be back in next week (minutes) before the Louisville showdown.

Hey 79 Warrior,
Where'd you go? Eagerly awaiting your response...easiest money I'll make all year.

So you vote in the polls? Congratulations!
I think MU and Wisco both fall out. We don't need to worry about being in thr poll right now anyway, just need to string some wins together.
RPI is 21 and Ken Pomeroy has us at 22. Will probably sneak into top 25 on at least one poll...?

I don't need your money. I just do not see MU going off on a tear. You do. Time will tell.
Who cares.
It's about how we finish.
It's always been that way.
In the mean time.....GO WARRIORS!!!!!!!
It will be an interesting poll. Teams like UCONN, Wisconsin, Florida and us struggling, but who do you move in.
We'll probably see Vandy and maybe a team like Creighton sneak into the polls and UW and us out. I wonder how much they will punish UCON and Florida.
I think Florida is one loss from being out of the polls and maybe the same for UCONN, that won't last long though (i.e. Michigan State earlier this season).

Well, I don't need your money either but fair enough.
Personally, I don't think they really need to go off on a tear. They might fall out this week (not a certainty I don't think) but if they do it won't be by much. Win the next two at home and they could be right back in. We'll see.
Let's get a couple of wins against very beatable teams and see where things land.

Only number that means anything to me is the number in front of our school's name come selection Sunday.
ESPN has us at 22. Bilas says he still likes us.
Ithink we'll have a wek off.
Judging by Parrish and Seth Davis, we'll stay ranked for the week. Goodman wanted us out though.
Seth Davis actually said, "Marquette made good impression this week"

Looking at it objectively, the number 20 team should lose on the road to the number 9 and number 1 teams, and the games were close at the end. So I can see that argument. As fans its frustrating to see the team play so well and so terribly for long stretches in the same game.

Pretty much this. I'd say about 27th.
MU still 24th in coaches poll.....Seton Hall got the shaft.

Even with such an efficient offense and defense, the loss to Vandy followed by a collapse against Georgetown and a beating at Syracuse have to shake the confidence of any team. I still like this team and how hard it plays together.
