With the dunk at the end and the foul out?
and the elbow....
He's never had any.
more likely no brains.
The knock on him has always been intelligence but I didn't see anything wrong with the dunk. MU was still fouling, therefore, game still on.

MU was not fouling. They had called the dogs off. Simpkins even pointed it out.
MU was not fouling. Buzz had called them off. They started again after that possession.
I'm relieved that Boeheim has found someone who can replace Devendorf as a$$hole in chief. Was worried about his recruiting ability.
Buzz was yelling not to foul and all MU players were walking back

Didn't they foul after that dunk?
Or am I remembering a different foul before the dunk?

So glad Devendorf is gone

Buzz called off the D. MU players were standing still. Boeheim was not happy with Melo for that. Really, though, it was the guard that made the pass.
In the end, not that big of deal, though.
Yes. They started again after that possession.

I missed some seconds there. I thought it was all continuous play. Douche move then for the Brasilian.
I was impressed with Boeheim's class....when Melo got called for the elbow, Boeheim basically looked at him and said "Hey, you elbowed the guy in the face." Bo would have been tossing napalm at the refs.
To be fair, the guy that passed it to Melo is also a DOUCHE.
He struck me as extremely immature. Boehiem looked like he was a disappointed father pointing out how dumb both the elbow and the dunk each time he came off the court after those plays. He better hope he doesn't go up against someone as immature as him or he may get taken out at the knees and really regret it.

He was getting some defensive pressure, he had to pass. Melo should have passed it as well.
He's an idiot. He will go down as a waste of talent and become nothing with his attributes.
He will leave Syracuse after this year with his 10 credits.

I already feel for the NBA fans who's team decides to throw-away a lottery pick on him.
... and the swats at the ball after the whistle. This year and last. Douche.
Wasn't he the one that should have had a T in the NCAA game against MU last year?
Surprised that there is no comment yet about DJO's response to Melo's dunk. He completely attacked the lane and shouldered into Melo, with Melo being called for the foul. DJO, in my mind, was 'retaliating' for the dunk, and the two seemed to have words after Melo's foul.
No love lost between the two.
it's something that you all say fab melo has no class. the kid didn't do anything intentional. we fought hard and lost, face it. no shame in that. but to attack their players for playing hard is pretty sour. from what i've read before our game with syracuse, it seems fab melo is actually a really nice kid who has put in alot of work to be able to play like he does this year. don't be sore losers, you make us all look bad.
yeah, you're a funny guy. i'm a "troll" because i tell it like i see it. we need alot of work to be a top team and there is still time. but i'm not gonna sugar coat anything. if that makes me a troll, better get used to it. watch the game again, you'll see our guys, mainly crowder and djo, pushing the syracuse players from behind under the basket. many times in the second half, not just a couple, but many times. get over it clown, we aren't that good this year without otule.
I don't know what you guys expected a 7-footer to do when he gets the ball under his own basket. Is he going to dribble it out and risk turning it over? Wait for someone to come and foul him and make him shoot free throws? ANY big guy in that position is going to do what he did. Every time.
I'm certainly no Fab Melo fan but I don't find that dunk objectionable at all. The elbow to Wilson's chin...another story. Hard to tell from the replay but that was probably intentional

I don't think Boeheim was happy with the dunk, but I agree with you. MU stopped playing D and the entry pass is where the "crime" occurred. In the end, though, really no big deal.
Melo will get his. He's not that good and his attitude will really hurt him as he moves on in life.

Everyone was objecting to the uncontested dunk at the end of the game when Melo was more than capable of holding it or passing it off. Anyone can be nice and a hard worker yet do something that warrants criticism. It was a lapse in judgment and he deserves a few comments for it, nothing more. Let's beat the Jonnies!

Agreed. I could care less about the dunk. That elbow on Wilson was on purpose. He throws them quite a bit throughout the game both when he has the ball and when we doesn't.
Anyone defending him will be quite busy. Look what is said about the guy on each and every forum in the Big East. I don't think Syracuse plays a game with a team without multiple posters questioning his character after the game.
Good for Boeheim though for sitting him for so long. Yes he had four fouls but Boeheim clearly sat him longer than required. Hopefully Melo will learn his lesson.
Thumbs up for Boeheim. Sat him longer than he had to after the flagrant that he was not happy about.
JB was also not happy about the dunk, after DJO drove and drew the foul, JB was shaking his head at Melo.
All the talent in the world for nothing.

That elbow on Wilson was on purpose.
But after watching the replay, Dickie said, clearly that wasn't on purpose...
Of course, I missed the next trip up the court because my head was still spinning trying to comprehend how someone could suggest the tallest guy on the court moving his elbow on the same plane as his shoulder blade, nearly 90 degrees behind him, is not intended to hit someone squarely in the face.

+1
Somebody should explain to Dickie that proper boxing out technique does not include raising your elbows to shoulder height and swinging them backwards
There is no doubt in my mind the elbow was intentional - like most other MU fans. To 'Cuse fans, perhaps there is some doubt. I also think Fab is a douche and immature. JB has seen everything by now in his career. I think JB will get that nonsense under control. The dunk didn't bother me nearly as much as the elbow.
As far as Dickie is concerned, he is an idiot. You saw in that famous Syracuse alumni thread how many media personnel there were. I'm sure in Dickie's circles he knows many Syracuse grads and was likely giving those fans the benefit of the doubt ("they teach that in international ball") I think Dickie was caught up in the atmosphere of the 20,000 at the Carrier Dome, his media friends, and that fact that he's an idiot.
Beat the Johnnies
