Have to get a new phone for work and was wondering if anybody has used the Torch 9850?
I can choose between that and the Bold 9930, but have a bold already and dont think the new one looks any different.

The closest thing to Blackberry (a phone that organizes your messages and contacts extremely well and fast) is a Windows Phone. My work is email intensive and my Andriod curled into the fetile position and was super laggy.
I have TMobile so the iPhone wasn't an option. I went to Windows Phone and I haven't looked back. The way the phone integrates your work, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc contacts is pretty seamless. The Live Tiles are sweet and it integrated their search engine into the phone that beats iPhone. I have had my phone for about a year, I get about 150 emails a day and it is still very zippy.
If you want the best hardware on the market, get the iPhone. If you want the best software, Windows Phone is king.

"Have to get a new phone for work" as in I am not buying it, instead just have to pick one and have no other input. Our IT department still does not view the iPhone as secure, so we can't select that option. And we have a sizeable corporate relationship with Blackberry.

I feel your pain.
I had to chose between the Bold and Torch as well. I went with the Bold, Blackberry needs to really work on their touch screen phones.

I actually don't have any problems with my service.
Again, my job is email intensive and the phone was laggy. It wouldn't respond when I wanted to flip through emails or scroll down an email chain. Truthfully, it was the fact that I had a Motorola Cliq which blew goats. I knew that but on top of that I don't like the fact that you have to download an app for email or texting to get all the bells and whistles for basic use. It also does a bad job integrating all your contacts.
Truthfully, I loved my Blackberry because it organized communications and contacts so well straight out of the box (without apps, etc). I wanted more online abilities so I switched to Andriod. I had a bad experience so I went out on a limp and got the Windows Phone. I am really happy with the phone and I have actually converted a couple of Blackberry/Andriod users and they are in agreement that Windows Phone has a better OS (shocking because Microsoft typically messes this stuff up).
I have the Blackberry Playbook (16gb, $200) and it's the coolest piece of hardware I've ever owned. This site looks pretty solid on it, too. It's nice along side a blackberry phone, because you can use the data connectivity from the phone to access the playbook's internet when you're not around WiFi.
