Nah, it's a big man's game.

I think Buzz's desired lineup of 3 PGs, 3 posts, and 7 switchables is fine. But those switchables should be 6'4" to 6'9", not 6'2" to 6'7".
Same old MU. When are we going to get a 6'10, 6'11 guy who can impact a game for us on both ends?

It would be nice if at least one of those switchables could consistently make the three.
Vanderbilt's players and offense looked a lot like what Buzz is hoping to do at MU - long athletes who spread the floor, move the ball, shoot well and defend. There's a reason they were ranked in the top 10 to start the season.

It seems like just about every good team in the country has 3-4 guys in the 6'8" - 6'11" range who are athletic and can play. Except us. Year after year. We either get stiffs or projects.

I have no problem with us getting some projects like that, but we at least have to get them. No, Otule isn't the end-all, but he's a very solid defensive center that helps keep offensive boards alive. I think my only worry is looking at guys like Juan Anderson, Jamal Ferguson, TJ Taylor, and Deonte Burton and seeing more great talents that could struggle against high-major size. I don't have a problem with any of them individually, I think they can all bring some great stuff to Marquette, but I wish that a couple of them were in that 6'7" to 6'9" range that seems to give us so much trouble.
I hope Steve Taylor starts to help offset those issues, and am also hoping for commits from guys like Johnathon Williams III, Johnathon Motley, Noah Vonley, Kevon Looney, and Diamond Stone in the coming years that already have that 6'7" to 6'10" size coming in without necessarily being post players.
A big with some impact is exactly what we need. I think it's safe to say the main reason Indiana, Indiana is much better this year is Cody Zeller.

Well, Crean was ripped for the same thing. Inability to get quality bigs. Buzz is facing the same problem. It is not like neither of them tried. For some reason, MU is not attracting the big fellas. Crean certainly landed a beauty at IU. Buzz and Crean tried. It just did not happen

I'll take 2 healthy CO's and a DG. Right now we don't have a point guard, a center, or anyone that can hit the 3. I appreciate what our two seniors have done for MU, but they need to step it up and play like the leaders they are.
I still think we're better off playing the majority of the game with Mayo, DJO, and Vander (at PG) and Jae/DG/JW down low. Guys like Anderson, Junior, DW, JJ, etc. can fill in as needed.

What? I thought we were being molded in the Mizzou image. Now we have to change to the Vandy mold? Geez.

Then you're not watching college basketball. Not thatany quality bigs.
Until Marquette develops a post player that plays in the nba they'll continue to get projects. Right or wrong we are obviously regarded as a guard and wing school.
