......Giangreco reported it a few days ago, now the Sun-Times jumps in and claims that Chandler will withdraw from school but somehow might be back, "If he doesn't hire an agent and is not drafted, he could return to school to try to become eligible to play again next season, sources said."

FWIW, the daily herald says he has not decided.
Sounds like he might have other issues affecting next years eligibility if he comes back.
Isn't that what Mike Williams in the NFL tried to do and he ended up havign to sit out the entire season?

DPU is on trimesters or quarters ..... so withdrawing from school now is likely not as big a deal for him in terms of recovering solid academic standing (if they were on semesters, he'd be hosed)
mike williams tried to leave as a sophomore just like maurice clarett did, which the nfl does not allow. a federal judge said the nfl's rule is legal and that he could not enter the draft. since he hired an agent, he was also ineligible to return to USC for his junior year. he sat out the 04-05 season and then was drafted. chandler, as of now, has not hired an agent, and could return. i believe he is gone though...

Does this mean that a student athlete on semesters is more likely to have a problem? Don't the camps start after semesters? I am speculating that someone like Chandler would have to try and makeup a quarter(confirmed) after camps. Any idea what happens to them if they miss last quarter and they are on track to graduate in 4 years? This is under the assumption they come back to school.
Chandler's issues may not come from just trimesters and semesters. Apparently, he's been a little lax on such issues as punctuality and class attendance during his less then 2 years with the DPU program. I don't think it's anything egregrious but it has taken place.
I guess he is no longer undecided.
