Sounds like they are waiting for an official invite...
Of course they are. As is Cincinnati, UConn, Rutgers, etc.
Are you surprised?
Why is this surprising? UCONN wants out, Rutgers wants out, WVU, Pitt, Syracuse already left. Of course Louisville wants out. So does Cincinnati. Nothing surprising at all about this.

The BE is finished after the next few teams are poached, which should be within the next year or two.

Then 2013 BCS contract will likely do away with the AQs as well. Once that happens, Boise State, SDSU, Houston and others have no reason to stay either.
The conference is dead.
competing loyalties.

The Big East is dead! Indiana won a big game! Chicos has a permaboner!
And Tebow wins again.
Cincinnati's display yesterday may prevent from getting into any conference.

And Yancy and the curb-stomper ended it. Nobody was innocent in this one. I never did like Cincy, and now I hold Xavier in similar regard. The whole city of Cincinnati stinks.
the bball only schools are just hanging on for louisville and uconn at this point. one of them leaves, the catholic schools are jumping ship. How freaking awesome would it be if Notre Dame and Marquette (god only knows how we would pull it off) could join the big ten. anyways, marquette, georgetown, villanova, ND (maybe), st. johns, seton hall, providence, depaul, Xavier, butler, fill in the rest. Actually, i was gonna say not that bad, than i typed it out and looked at it. Damn, thats pretty bad.

Hold on there for a moment. Skyline Chili is pretty good. It's not Real Chili, but they make a good Chili!

Why so we could play 12 conference opponents who play boring basketball a year? yay!
The only major Conf we might have a shot with. I would put it at a very low amount would be if the Big East blows up and the Big 12 wants to add ND for NON-football and wanted 2 teams we would probably be the logical choice if you factor Distance and qaulity of the athletic's and Academic. If they added Ville, BYU or Cincy, and ND and MU you could argue that it is just as good as the ACC or SEC in BBALL. Texas, Baylor, OKL, OKL st, ND, Ville, MU, Kan, Kan st, Texas Tech, Cincy or BYU, TCU, Iowa st, WV. Outside of Texas Tech and TCU there is really not a weak team in the bunch. I think that conf could get 8 out of 14 in the Big Dance each year.
Anyone that thinks Butler is a legit high major D1 team that you want in your conference is delusional...they had a great lucky 2 year run...before that they were a low to mid major at best and will be right back there......this year.
Schools like st. Joes, and St. Louis, dayton are far and away bigger players than butler

The football only conferences have absolutely no desire to add bball only schools. The current BE is all the example you need of why it does not work.

Just take a few minutes and look at Butler's basketball history over the past 15 years. They've had far more than a 2-year run.
