Title: If Jamil can't go tonight...
Post by: GGGG on December 10, 2011, 01:15:35 PM
...DJO, Junior, Crowder, Blue and Jones.  Bring Davante off the bench as a change up.  Set the tone early...be fast.  Prevent the entry pass to their big guy.

I think Davante starts either way, need some help on their 7 footer.  That said who take the jump ball for us to start?

I hope Jones does something.  For a guy that was a known "shooter", he is 3 for 14 from three point distance so far this year (21%).  Maybe getting some playing time will get him out of this shooting slump.

The fact that he basically has guaranteed playing time tonight should loosen him up.  I am predicting that JJ is the SOG tonight.

It definitely puts him to the test.  We likely will see what he is made of.  Can he step up and play within the team framework and prove his hype coming out of high school?  Does he try to press too much and then struggle?

I wish but I don't see him doing much tonight to be honest.

The problem I see with JJ so far is everytime he gets in, he starts to jack up a shot.  It's understandable since he probably feels if he makes a few, Buzz will keep him in.  When he misses, he's taken out.  Maybe if he's expected to get the minutes, he'll relax more and not be so prone to just throw up a 3 immediately....get into the flow of the game first.  Hopefully, that will breed confidence in him.  We need him over the next several weeks if not the rest of the season.

He has not been taken out due to offense.  It is what he does/does not do defensively as to why he returns to the bench.

Jeez...Jamil might be out too? Crowder's going to have to do some work on Brown.

MU tweeted a picture of the shootaround and Jamil was dressed like he was participating. Not sure if it means anything. His ankle didn't look wrapped, but he may have just been observing.
