Not that I ever need an excuse to root against Duke, but it would be pretty nice if Washington could knock off Duke on Saturday.
I don't really get it that the Huskies get to play one more game in the Garden, whereas Marquette being the winner does not.
What is the deal?
It's not a tournament. That is just how the schedule was laid out. With Otule out, it is just as well we play a cupcake or two now to get used to playing without him.
duke and washington just scheduled a game at the garden. it is not associated with the jimmy v classic, which is not a tournament.
I thought it was a bit crappy (though classic Dookie V) when Vitale said Washington needed to get a win last night because they had to play Duke Saturday. Really want to see UW beat Duke to shut his piehole.
Washington is going to struggle unless they make it another track meet. They will not get as many rebounds as they did with us. Duke is not athletic at all this year so they have a shot.
Yesterday before the game I was reading the Washington message boards, and their fans seemed to think they had a better shot competing against Duke than with us. I hope this is the case!
I thought I heard during the broadcast that since they were going to be in Manhattan all week, the team had classwork scheduled. However...I thought I heard for their assignment that they were going to see a Broadway play and write a report on it.
Wow...talk about a charmed week in the Big Apple for the Huskies week.

Its a lot tougher than that. They have to see
two plays. If I heard right they'll write papers about the two plays for one hour's credit!
Several times Dicky V mentioned they would be seeing "The Lion King" this week.
I'm surprised they couldn't schdule this better. Teams aren't gone this long for the NCAA tournament.
Hopefully they can use this time to prepare and defeat Duke!

Don't forget they're writing a paper on their experience for credits! Slightly more difficult than Madison's "Clap For Credit" but "My Trip To New York" would have been the easiest paper/course of my college career.

That wasn't a shot at MU. It was more that Washington already has 2 losses, losing to MU would be 3, and playing Duke would likely be their 4th then.......not a good nonconf resume and hurtful if on the bubble.

Actually, there were lectures and classes before they left Seattle, and the assignments are merely a part of the class. Scoff away, but the academic study of theatre is a legitimate pursuit done by smart people (well, there are some idiots, too, but that's true in any field).
So this covers ONE of their classes. What about the other 3 or 4?

I hope they bought their own tickets!!
I think Dicky V and Dan Shulman were saying that they had a professor with them on the trip.
For what it's worth J. Wilson just tweeted:
