It is great to enjoy the UW win over the stinking badgers, as fans, but I hope our team has put it behind them and is concentrating on Washington. Yes , Washington has lost 2 games but they are big and can score. They have 3 players averaging 13+ ppg, height, starting line-up goes 6-3,6-5, 6-6, 6-8, 7-0, averaging 81ppg 25th in the country, they rebound 42.7 rpg 3rd in the country. Their weakness is turnovers, 16pg and freethrow shooting 62%.
We obviously can beat them but we can't look past them. Hopefully, they look past us, they play Duke 4 days after our game.
OK edited

We haven't beat UW yet.
I'm not feeling a letdown for Tuesday. I think we're full speed ahead. DJO has already tweeted today: "time to focus on washington now"
Washington is very good from the 3pt line as well, so we need to defend that as well as we did yesterday.
The Garden is our Home Court!
The MU ticket office allotment for the Jimmy V sold out. We should have a pretty good fan presence at the game. Much like we do for the BET and for the UNC game in Newark last Spring.
Shawn Kemp, Jr.?
Yes, that's his son.
Didn't St. Louis U destroy Washington earlier this year?
Yes. It was at St. Louis. U of W was down 20 at half and lost by 12. Apparently, the only reason that UW played at St. Louis is because one of their players, Scott Suggs, is from Mo., and Romar told him they would play a game there in front of Suggs' friends and family. Suggs missed the game with a stress fracture in his foot. St. Louis has also beat Villanova and Oklahoma, so I guess I wouldn't count that loss as a big black mark.
Based on my reading, UW appears mostly very young. Talented and have potential, but especially defensively they have not coalesced yet. Looks like Romar still likes to play fast. I'm sure they will be up for the game. Should be a tough, fun game.

How often do kids get a chance to play in the Garden? I doubt anyone will be looking past this game. Plus Im sure a few people want a little payback for that NCAA loss.
My gut feeling is that this team is not going to overlook any games. With so much depth these guys have to play with attitude to stay in the rotation. They look have the look of a team on a mission and hope they build on that.

Shawn Kemp, Jr.?
I believe MU looked at him for awhile too.

One of many...
I remember in the lat 90's, David Letterman's monologue:
"The most popular baby names have been tabulated for this past year. For girls the most popular name was Emily. For boys, it was Shawn Kemp, Jr."
