Title: Big East-SEC Challenge
Post by: MarquetteDano on December 03, 2011, 10:15:21 AM
Big East 6

SEC  2

For a down year Big East looking pretty good versus SEC.  Just have to win one more game to win challenge and with UConn-Arkansas, West Virginia-Miss State, Pitt-Tenn, and LSU-Rutgers still left, you have to think at least 8-4 would happen.

Unofficially we have already racked up one win against the SEC (Ole Miss) and hopefully, we can wins against LSU and Vandy as well.

Jay Bilas said last night during the Cuse-Florida game that the SEC and the Big 10 are the two best conferences this year.

A better year than usual for the SEC, but top 2 conference? SEC is pretty solid at the top with UK, Florida, Bama and Vanderbilt (two losses already) but I don't know about the rest of the lot. When I think "best conference" I consider the top of the conference, but also the overall strength. No way in hell the SEC is better than the Big East, and the SEC-Big East challenge will show that. I agree though that the B1G will be a top 2 or 3 conference.

I concur.  I agree with Bilas 99% of the time.  This must be the one percent.  Big Ten is excellent this year but no way is the SEC even in the top three.  Fourth at best.  Sagarin computer ranking has them 5th.

UPDATE:  Big East wins challenge 8 to 4 over the SEC.  Not too shabby given the Big East is not as good as year's past.

Yeah, and considering one of the best teams in the BE didn't even play in the BE/SEC challenge this year.
