... I would hate for a couple random clicks to take me to marquettegoldenshowers.com
"As $200 a piece, these domains are proving to be a costly measure for universities and other organizations"
Seriously? hundreds of millions of dollars in endowment money couldn't cover the fee?
I thought Gavin Mcinnes did some funny vids about actual porn companies/sites protecting their own assets.

I think you have to draw a line at some point they are staying.
mu.xxx
marquette.xxx
marquetteuniversity.xxx
Ok you may need to block off those.
But how many are you going to block off? There are probably 200 variations that need to be blocked off. Is it worth $40,000 a year to block all these sites? MarquetteU.xxx, marquettecollege.xxx, marquetteuniversityinwiconsin.xxx, marquetteuniversitygoldeneagles.xxx, marquettewarriors.xxx.... I think you get my point.

I don't think a .xxx would tarnish a Universities image, especially if it is obvious that it is in no way shape or form related to that university.

If you got marquette.xxx, under these new names would cover MarquetteU.xxx, marquettecollege.xxx, marquetteuniversityinwiconsin.xxx, marquetteuniversitygoldeneagles.xxx, marquettewarriors.xxx as you own the trademark on Marquette.
At least that's what Deadspin is reporting.
What is some guy in the UP wants to start his own Marquette.xxx site? Although unlikely, I don't see why he couldn't (if the .xxx domain is available).
What if a producer wants to make a porn film, based off of:
