"15 minutes ago - by Mike Singer - Marquette's offense vs. Wisconsin's defense
In the first six games of the season, Marquette has imposed its will on opponents, defeating teams by an average of 29 points per game. What Buzz is saying: Wisconsin plays Wisconsin style hoop, no matter who they play. Not a slam, just a fact.
No
Didn't think that was Buzz's style, just wanted to hear some objective opinions.

No. And it would not be Buzz's style to try to 'stab' at another coach.
Considering Buzz prefers a "lightening" tempo, and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Sconnie played a game last year and scored under 40 points in which the whole nation was expressing how ugly, unorthodox, and bad they looked, I didn't know if Buzz was trying to stir the pot a little bit?
Hard to imagine anyone reading this and thinking it was a jab.............. ::)
Translation....Wisconsin plays the way they play.......Bo Ryan would have said the same thing.
Hard to imagine anyone reading this and thinking it was a jab..............
Again, anybody can read this and understand that is Wisconsin Basketball, I wanted to see if there were some objective views instead of the typical.
Not a jab.
haha - you must be spending too much time on MUScoop!

Don't know how many of those you'll find here.

Concur!
Actually in this case poiting out the obvious(that it wasn't a jab) is an objective view.
Not a jab. The context of that quote is from Buzz talking about: we do what we do and they do what they do.... we are not going to change what we do, maybe tweak it a little bit, but not try to be something we are not... and they do what they do and they may tweak it, but they are not going to change what they do. We are not great against a zone and we will see a zone 33% of the time... but since we don't play a lot of zone on defense, it is harder to practice against a zone on offense... and there are a lot of different types of zones, etc....
He basically was rambling on and just pointing out that you have a style and practice and play a certain way, and can't totally change based upon each opponent... both teams will teak what they do, but not change totally e.g. UW probably won't be playing zone and same with MU as it just isn't who they are.

Ha ha. Really, so because the subject of this thread was "Is this a "stab" from Buzz to the UW program?" you have the objective opinion? I believe the objective opinion would be something other than what the majority of the people think? In this case obviously we all know what Wisconsin basketball is (at least i hope) so the idea of my posting was to hear if anybody else thought maybe/possibly there could have been more behind the comment.

Isn't it possible to be both "objective" and part of the "majority"?

One of two things is happening here:
(1) You have a completely misconstrued understanding of the word "objective."
or
(2) I have a completely misconstrued understanding of the word "objective."

Based on that definition, the phrase "objective opinions" is an oxymoron, isn't it? The only way for the original poster to get an objective answer of whether Buzz's comment was a "stab" would be to ask Buzz. Given that he posted the question on this board instead of emailing Buzz, it's hard to imagine he was going to elicit any responses that would qualify as "objective."

I'm right there with you.
It is not my objective to be objective, so I am not able to provide an unbiased opinion.
Buzz always passes the positives and respect towards his elder peers. Especially for Coach Ryan and Wisconsin. There is no way he would now take a shot at either Ryan or the program. He is stating that UW will not adjust to who they play, but make the other team adjust to them..

Agreed. If anything, I would interpret Buzz's comment as a compliment.
Buzz has said repeatedly things to the effect of "we can't worry about what they're trying to do, we have to worry about what we're trying to do."
This is basically the same thing.
