Title: dook vs tOSU
Post by: texaswarrior74 on November 29, 2011, 09:56:26 PM
tOSU currently in a beat down.

As I've mentioned numerous times on this board, THIS is why k and dook never play true road games unless they have to.

k is the best at padding his schedule with non conference "away" games played on neutral floors.

After tonight he may never schedule a real non conference away game again.

Duke's last November loss was to Marquette on November 21, 2006.

There's been 3 Marquette mentions already.  One for Doc Rivers, one for the stat Sir Lawrence posted, and one for Wade being there.

Wisconsin v UNC is kinda stealing the MU v WI thunder.

Smart move by K to avoid these at all cost.  I read earlier today that Wisconsin has an 8 game losing streak to ranked teams on the road dating back to 12/31/2008.  If When they lose tomorrow night, it'll be 3 full years since they've won a road game against a top-tier team (if UWM or Nebraska find someway to get ranked, they'd have a couple more shots before 12/31, but I think that unlikely).  To get a comparison, I looked at our record in true road games against ranked teams and found that we've only won 4 over the last 4 years (4 of 17).  Villanova has fared even worse - 3 of 15 over the same stretch.  I just eyeballed this using the schedules on ESPN and may have miscounted, but the numbers are pretty clear.  Unfortunately, Duke is Duke and doesn't need 1 (or more) of these a year to help build the resume.

Nationally it's a bit higher profile game. Outside of Wisconsin, MU/UW  will only be watched closely by MU and UW fans.

Kinda sucks when you think(which could be true) that no one cares about 7v16, big 10 v big east, outside of Wisconsin

Die hard basketball fans care, the average fan probably doesn't.

Any time Dook gets pummeled, it makes me happy.  Doesn't hurt that I grew up in Ohio rooting for the buckeyes.

I stated my biases in another thread, but tOSU is in my opinion the best team in the country... I don't think UK beats them this year.  Deshaun Thomas (another Indiana kid who chose not to attend IU) is going to be/already is an absolute monster.
