I know they don't have their big man and X is good but they could fall out of rankings by the time we play them. They get UL next.
They are having PG and defensive issues at the moment, although this recent loss was to Xavier and shouldn't hurt them too badly.
Loss to X shouldn't hurt them at all, even at home. Xavier is a legit top 10 team.
They controlled most of the first half, and led deep In the second. Disappointing loss. At home, they should absolutely win that game, especially with their homecourt advantage. I hope they improve when Ezeli finally gets back. Thus far, Ole Miss is looking like a more impressive potential win.
Vanderbilt will be fine eventually. Ezeli should be back for the game vs MU but he'll be rusty. Vandy was not strong with the ball, got crushed on the boards and looked flat. Crusing with 10 point lead in 2nd half and a bizzarre decision to sub in 5 guys many of whom rarely play. Lead evaporated in a blink of an eye after that. Tchiengang had foot surgery in off season and is working into form. Ezeli is one of very best big men in country. Didn't get good games from Taylor, who disappears at times, nor Tinsley. Vandy will get it going, but it will take a little time.
Too bad its going to take some time because this was the game I was really looking forward to (bought tix) with them starting off the year ranked 7.
Vandy is playing a lot less 2-3 zone this year, something that's been successful for them in the past. Imo, a mistake. Vandy is vulnerable to undersized, quick, tough guard teams. Vandy does better against the bigger teams. But make no mistake, Vandy has talent and they'll get it going. They'll give MU a good game.
