They went on 20 - 4 run to lead at 38 to 34. Should be a good game.
They have beaten Washington, BC, and now leading Nova. Are the Billikens for real? If yes, congrats to Rick Majerus.
And UCF leads UConn 60-57 w/ under 2 mins to play.
UCF wins 68 to 63!
SLU is looking comfortable, up 10, though 'Nova has whittled it down from 18. Granted, I think the Billikens are good, but this is exactly why I thought Villanova was overrated. Wayns is playing better than I expected this season, but outside of him and Yarou, there's really no one there.
Yes, SLU is for real this year. They are an NCAA team. This would have happened last year but their two best players were suspended before the season started.
SLU has depth, increased team speed, experience, unselfishness, toughness. Other than Loe, a face the basket perimeter first "big," SLU is undersized height-wise in front court, 6'6 guys, but they play bigger.
Getting good under the radar recruits and turning them into well developed upper classmen.
DePaul is also looking good. Controlling Texas Tech, and took Minnesota to the brink yesterday after leading much of the game. Oliver Purnell has them pointed in the right direction.
I have watched SLU in the 76 classic in St. Louis. They look good. I'm excited to see who they will face in the Final. They have had a hell of week- whooping Washington, handling a young BC and now a mid-runner from the BEast. They should get some votes Monday. Good for Majerus and the program. I hope they can keep it going.

If they can keep Conklin and Mitchell on the court and consistent help from Jett, Loe and Cassity they present a challenge.
Majerus is a supreme a-hole, but the dude can coach...
SLU wins by 12. Also Harvard beats #20 Florida State.

He was always nice to me when I would see him at Mack's Frozen Custard in Waukesha back in the day.
Rick's mom passing away this past year after long cancer battle has moved his focus to hoops. And Rick had a bad leg injury last year during an in game collision, which is not an issue this year. SLU can go 9-10 deep if need be.
Imagine where SLU would be with Willie Reed their very talented 6'11 center who was one of the two suspended players last year. He's playing in Spain.
Rick's a complex guy who has zero filter publicly which leads to a wide variety of good, bad, and interesting moments.
The Billikens may be for real but BC is HORRIBLE - my Alma mater from the Colomial league whomped them by 30 plus.

So Majerus took the Trojan job, only to be guilted into giving it up by his mom. Glad he is having success now.

MU has had a number of supreme a-holes at the reigns of the basketball program. Deane, Crean, Majerus, O'Neill, Hickey. Fortunately for us, most of them delivered some thrilling results.
