Title: Tyshawn Taylor
Post by: texaswarrior74 on November 23, 2011, 11:18:40 PM
When he's good he's pretty good but he plays out of control so often....10,make that 11 TOs tonight...he has single handedly cost Kansas a win over Duke.

I'm glad he decided to go to KU...can't see Buzz and him being on the same page too often. KU was up and trying to expand their lead now Duke goes on a 8-0 run to finish the game.

Jackson of Memphis, who I believed we also tried to recurit, gave away a Memphis win to Georgetown. Memphis up 2 and gets offensive rebound with 35 seconds to go. Instead of holding the ball Jackson drives in and has his pass stolen.

Speaking of Memphis, Tarik Black, or Davante?  I like our guy.

And also, Otto Porter, or Steve Taylor?  Again, I like our guy.

Think it speaks volumes about Buzz' recruiting that he's in on multiple SOLID players every year, and has gotten some.

Gardner over Black? I'm sorry, I love Ox, but Tarik is on another level.

Tarik's stat line doesn't suggest another level.  Fewer points per game in more minutes.  Fewer rebounds in more minutes.  Blocks about equal.  Crap FT %.  I hardly call it another level.  I haven't seen him play so he might be just oustanding on defense (which often doesn't show up in stats) but why is he only getting in 19 minutes a game if he is one of Memphis's best defenders?

Or it speaks volumes to Buzz's ability to develop players.

Tarik Black is pretty good, wish we had him. He stuggles with the fouls.

Hard to compare Otto with a HS player.

And it's hard to hate these frosh stats: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/56909/otto-porter

Those frosh stats are about on par with what Vander Blue was doing in the non-con last year. Yet somehow, we seem to hate those frosh stats ;)

Although Georgetown's played Memphis and Kansas already in those 5 games.

And Blue played Duke, Gonzaga, Wisconsin, and Vandy in those 14 games. What's your point?
