Title: Stud?
Post by: brewcity77 on November 21, 2011, 10:15:21 PM
We won...so there should be one, right? I'd vote for DJO. Despite missing that front end, he had an answer almost every other time, and if nothing else, deserves it for averaging 20 on the season and not getting one yet.

I'll vote for the final buzzer that ended this nightmare. Blowing a huge lead and winning only because the other team's star player misses a wide open three seems more like a loss than a win. Glad we survived, but there's absolutely nothing to be happy about. Very, very fortunate to win this game against a vastly inferior opponent.

DJO was the clear stud. other than the missed ft, he had a great game

I'm thinking DJO too.  Second place to Cadougan for 8pts, 6 assists, and 2 reb.  Really nobody with a stat-stuffing line tonight.  Though, again I thought Crowder provided energy when needed, and Otule had a good start to the game.

The problem is saying "other than the missed free throw." DJO is supposed to be one of the best players in the league, maybe even the country. He simply can't miss that free throw.

still doesn't invalidate the other 39 minutes. and we won.

Well, he did, and we won, so he can miss it.  He's going to miss free throws throughout the season.  And some of them will be in the clutch.  He's really not a good free throw shooter.

Beating a team 2 times in 1 week is not easy, no matter how much better you are than them.  It's easier to be the lesser team that lost the first game to play a better 2nd game.  You're the team that has to make the adjustments.  What adjustments do you make when you win by 30?  I'm happy we got the win, and I'm happy we're unbeaten.

Well, gave it to DJO for getting 20, averaging 20ppg, and getting the PJ MVP.  Just noticed Crowder had a double-double, but Cadougan was the first double-double guy not to win the MUScoop SOTG.

Definitely has to be DJO, and honestly though MU didn't play great towards the end I think it'd be robbing Norfolk St. of a great game by saying we almost coughed it away and its also unfair to hate on DJO just because of that one missed FT.

Even clutch players are going to miss that one. Glad to escape with the win and nice to rest up before Jacksonville then the real test that is UW

Without a doubt DJO... he made up for his only mistake of the night with his strong defense on the other end. He won tournament mvp averaging 20 points. Cadougan in 2nd for a strong overall performance.
