I'm not sure how the next 30 minutes will go in this game, but it sure has been fun to watch the last ten. I like what I see.
My god we look good. That is all.
We are playing well, but Ole Miss sucks!
They look great tonite! Agreed, fun to watch.
Passing is awesome.
The defense looks very, very good. Pretty sound...not much to complain about thus far..how many turnovers does Mississippi have?
I'm going to go way out on a limb and say that Juan Anderson gets into this game.
Jae, OTule, Ox, and Blue BRINGING it. Great start.
Every foul Ole Miss gets is a result of an acting performance. What a bunch of P*ssies.
I think we may have something special on our hands here. But the defense the last 8 minutes there was suspect.
I have been curious all day how Marquette's vaunted offense would handle the Ole Miss defense. Maybe that defense will show up in the second half so we can get an answer.
Crowder > Tebow
Lock down the interior and cut off the drives. Let them chuck it from the outside.
Keep the transition on...#winning
I know the players won't be looking ahead to their next match up but assuming that MU makes the final, we have a rematch against a team we just beat by 31 points a week ago. Looks like Buzz should get a tournament trophy added to his resume, which he said he was looking to do, even if it is pretty meaningless.
What is impressing me most tonight is how completely gelled this team looks already, in game 4 of the season with a host of newbies and sophomores. Last year I wondered who the tandem players would be, like the Three Amigos just played as a unit. This year...take your pick.

If so, do we put up a banner?
Is it just me, or does the color commentator have a total mancrush on Vander?

i get the feeling buzz wouldn't put him in if we only had four players to play...hope i'm wrong.
They have only seen Vander play once...and it was the best game of his career.
But he is playing very well tonight too even though it might not reflect on the stat sheet.
We're peaking too early!!!
Can we relax now regarding our 3-pt defense?
Mac on the radio just now: "2-for-20, lemme do the math-- TEN percent."
Without the video, this is really a boring game.

Without the video, this is really a boring game. it allows me to enjoy Homer and Mac's jokes much more. CORRECTED.

I think the MU women could handle Ole' Miss. regarding 3-pt defense.
What is the score? Please update often here.
Marquette won 96-66. Crowder with 25/7, DJO had a near-silent 20.
Only downer was offensive rebounds, Ole Miss had 23 to 8.
Team is so much better offensively when Gardner is in, but Otule much better on defense. Nice options.
Jamil Wilson looked lost, don't get it. Maybe it will take time.
Mayo primary sub for DJO. D. Wilson primary sub for Junior. Nice work so far by freshmen.
Did Juan Anderson play?
DJO just took what he was given. Didn't force anything. He and Crowder both playing like seniors who know what to do. Otule /Gardner played hard. Blue continues to look confident. Cadougan ran things nicely. Ole Miss didn't know what hit them.

This is the first time in Buzz's tenure where he returns more players, than he has new ones' coming in. I've been super bullish on Buzz since season 1 with the Big 3...hearing his interviews, how he conducts himself, the players, etc. I really feel we are simply beginning to see the tip of the iceberg as to how good things can become this season, and moving forward long term with Buzz at the helm..

That's two downers, but I agree whole-heartedly. When we stretch the D like that we are not in great rebounding position, and Wilson looks very timid on the floor. Of the 10 guys who've played regularly thus far, he's number 10 in my book. That's just nit-picking though, as the team has looked tremendous thus far.
The best thing I've seen so far is that Blue looks like a completely different guy from the one who finished last season. That and the depth. No fear of going to the bench with this team.

Not true. Just off the top of my head, Jerel, DJ, Wes, Burke, Lazar, Cooby, Hazel, and Frozena were returning in 2008-09. Even if you discount Rob, that's 7 scholarship players out of a max 13.

Defensively he was just fine. Offensively he is being very passive.

Not really. Ole Miss shoots poorly.
Last night was the first game I have seen this year (as much of it as I saw).
A couple of thoughts/questions. Overall, they look great. Seems a bit early for all the excitement but they did look really great.
One surprise and two concerns.
Otule looked like a different guy to me. Amazing. I don't think he is going to be a super star but Wow he looked so much faster and agile and in control. Loved that.
I am not seeing what others are seeing with Blue. Granted I missed the game where he blew up but last night I saw the same guy as last year. He looked so amazing on that steal and dunk. Fast, confident and smooth as silk. Then I watch him on that break where he gets pinned under the hoop?? That looked like me, and that ain't good. Granted he got it out of there but still... I think he looks like he did last year early in the season. Please tell me I am wrong. I want the guy to be good I really, really do.
Finally, Jamil Wilson looked terrible. Has he looked like that all season? I thought he was going to be the primary guy to eat up some of Jimmy's minutes. Maybe it does not matter as the team is so deep but that was a real bummer.
Overall, of course, last night was very fun to watch and I have high hopes but thoose were the things that suprised me.

You are only looking at one side of the floor. Vander was fantastic on the defensive end - easilly the best perimeter defender on this team. Were there times when he forced the action? Yes...and that is going to happen. But he is much more in control than he was last year
And Jamil also looked real good on the defensive end. I am wondering if he is going to get the playing time to make a difference and get into the flow of things, but he is a very smart, heady player. Wasn't out of place defensively.
