it looks that way.  can anyone imagine NSU giving us any trouble in a rematch?  I still think TCU will win somehow

agreed...would have been better to have UVA and Miss. on the opposite side of us.  i think the fact that UVA was picked 4th in the preseason ranking for the ACC shows how bad that conference needed to bust up BEAST basketball.  if Dixon were to leave Pitt. and the allegations against Cuse were to be true/or Boehiem were to decide he's had enough it could turn out ugly for the ACC.

Norfolk State now up 11 with 12 minutes to go. Kind of a bummer.

I can't seem to find a bracket for this tournament...is Virginia still alive in the tourney?  If Norfolk wins tonight, and we win...do we play them again in the Championship?

Yes. UVA lost to Norfolk State. We play the winner of Norfolk State and TCU. Norfolk State is currently leading 50-37 with 8:30 minutes left.

If we win tonight, we had better not get cocky.     Having said that, is NSU actually pretty good and we are that good, or is that side of the bracket all tanking?

I don't know. UVA was favored to win against NSU. With that said, O'Quinn looks pretty good for them tonight. Currently has 12 rebounds...we absolutely shut him down in Milwaukee.

Yes, that's right. My mistake. NSU beat Drexel in the first round. TCU is making it a game...down 56-48 with 2.5 minutes to go.

My memory is bad...was it MSM or UNS that had 3 starters benched when we played them?

Norfolk State is certainly better than they looked against us. O'Quinn is a very good player. They won't be a top-100 RPI team, but they could very well be a tourney team and should be legitimate contenders in the MEAC. We could be worse off than playing them again.

And even if they return to expected form and finish with an RPI around 275, that's still better than 6 teams we played last year.

Heard Mac in the pregame mention that NFSU wanted a rematch, because they felt they played even with us in the 2nd half and could win.  Buzz will use this to keep the troops focused.

Did Norfolk State check the box score? We outscored them by 20 points in the second half. Were they even with us because at one point they got the deficit back to 12 points? Bring them on.

That was my thought.  As I said, Buzz may use this as NFSU not respecting MU.
