From guys Like DJO, Crowder, Otule, Butler, Gardner, etc. it is clear that Buzz does a really good job of determining which kids out of those non McDonalds all-American types can ultimately be really good down the road.
Unless you are UNC or Kentucky this is the most important thing in coaching college basketball. KEvin Oneil was outstanding in this area as well.
From the looks of this year's Freshman in Wilson, Mayo, and Anderson Buzz seems to have uncover some players that will be really good down the road as well. Also, having watched some of our near misses in recent days only solidifies Buzz's eye for talent. Rodney Hood and DeAngleo Harrison are fure stars in abig way. Hood is a 6'8" 2G that can handle, pass, shoot defed, and rebound. Harriosn is an absolute bull that has a s sweet a stroke as u will see. I would not be surprised if he becomes SJU's all-time leading free throw shooter (attempts) with his fearless ability to take the ball to the rim.
minus Jeremy Lamb
It's been two games. Lets see if Mayo and Wilson will even see the floor come BE season. We haven't even seen Juan play yet. Last year people might have thought Reggie was going to make an impact but that didnt work out too well. As someone posted on here, ill say Buzz will play a Freshman when Buzz plays a freshman. Its not wrong that he doesnt, in fact its quite smart if they are not smart enough to make smart decisions.
...and I hope Otule WILL BE considered to join the list this/next year
We only have three experience guards and right now all three are starting. Given that Mayo and Wilson will have to see playing time in the Big East.

No where did I say the freshman would start or even be major contribtors...what I did imply tho was i have seen enough to think they will be high major players that contribute as their careers progress. And that says a lot for two kids in MAyo and Wilson that were not top 100 kids.
