Title: TV coverage for Paradise Jam?
Post by: WarriorHal on November 15, 2011, 04:17:32 PM
Anyone know if the upcoming games will be broadcast on any national cable stations?

Friday's game will be on PJam's website.  Assuming MU beats Winthrop, the Sunday and Monday games will be on Fox Sports.  Here in Milwaukee on Time Warner that would be FSN-Wisconsin CH 31 ( 1309 HD ).

EDIT:  forgot the games not on tws 32...$5 it is i guess...

I just checked out the coverage from the Paradise Jam link.  Poor quality video.  Not nearly as good as what I get from ESPN 3.

Very disappointed.

So we have to pay $5 for this game?  Really?

My espn3 is bad at home, I hate to see this from the Jam.

Paging Dr. Blackheart.... take your laptop to the game, and don't forget your HD webcam.

Thanks for the link - decided to puchase the Drake vs. Ole Miss game to do some scouting, and see what the stream was like.  Video is decent quality, nothing like ESPN3, more like that from Justin TV.  Audio is horrible, I think the mics are over saturating - everything is muffled.  There is no on-screen scoreboard, so it's live video with play-by-play.  Of course, I can baerly understand the play-by-play.  Argh.

Anyhow, I'll update this if audio quality gets better.

(hah, they just panned to the scoreboard in the gym to show everyone the score....better to use the live tracker...http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=3563)

Anyone know how I can listen to the audio broadcast on my iPhone?  Is the $3 ESPN Radio app the only way?

Thanks!

The TuneIn app doesn't block MU games on 540...at least it didn't for me last year.

There's also something called "ooTunes" that my cousin told me about.  I've never checked it out because I have the ESPN app.

ESPN radio app is great.  I use it when there is a road game and I'm on the train.

I'd say just pay the $4.99 if you have to watch it (as opposed to listening to homer).

As a side note.  I thought it was $4.99 per game - based on when I paid for the Drake/Miss game it spelled out that game specifically and none of the others.  But, rolled the dice and let the stream keep going- so now I'm watching the end of Virginia/TCU, and will presumably roll right into MU/Winthrop.

It's not that I'm too cheap, it's that I don't want to install another 3 plugins to my browser and give my credit card information to one the shadier-looking sites I've ever seen. Between the blackouts to anyone in the Milwaukee area not on TimeWarner and this horrible excuse for game coverage, I'm pretty disappointed in Marquette's ability to grasp this whole TV thing.

This site will not work. They just make a blog post for every single game and link to paid sites where you will not find the game.

So what are the options?

Is it $5, radio or a flight? Flight seems a bit late, but maybe that is the best option. What is the flight time?

In the selector icon on the right side, there's two options *within* the icon.  On the right loads it for PiP, on the left (again, inside the icon) should be "play" or something like that.
