Feds looking into Marquette's handling of sexual assault cases per ESPN
Written by: noreply@blogger.com (muwarrior92)
With all the Joe Paterno Penn State 24-7 coverage you may have missed on the front page of ESPN.com today. A link in the top 10 headlines to a story about Marquette and their handling of the sexual assault stories that appeared in April of this year.
The headline link is titled, "Feds look at Marquette handling of assault cases"
The link to the story on ESPN is here (http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/id/7220087/marquette-golden-eagles-feds-review-response-sex-assault-allegations)
The link to the front page screen capture is here. (http://i41.tinypic.com/154ass8.jpg)
CS did not link to a story several weeks ago from the Chicago Tribune that again had this incident on the front page of their paper. In this instance, ESPN, a national news outlet has the story on their front page for a national audience so the story has been linked here.

Way to jump on the sensationalist headline bandwagon.
I am disappoint, CS.

Maybe for the next post (just speaking SPECIFICALLY about muwarrior92, of course), just show us a photo of your last "movement" before you flush. It'd be about as informative and productive.
Original headline:
"Marquette Public Safety: Choking Dogs who Pee Themselves."
Death, taxes, and CBB's inability to pass on an opportunity to take shots at MU.
Post has been taken down.
Someone's gone rogue!!!
The post has been taken down...seems even those guys are tiring of his Anti-Marquette all the time attitude.
I am sure he is happy tho....IU plays tonite!!
I didn't get to see what was written, but I have no problem with it being a story on CS.
Ignoring that ESPN.com has it as a headline is newsworthy for Marquette.
I realize the story is old news, but the fact that it getting national attention now is still NEWS.

Uh scroll up - CS lets us post their blog entries in their entirety. Albeit, the formatting doesn't always come out right on MUScoop.

I totally agree that an intelligent discussion about what's happening belongs on MU Scoop.
In my opinion that should come with a title that accurately reflects what the DoE's goal is. "Feds investigating MU's handling of sex crimes" isn't just sensationalist, it misrepresents what the DoE is at MU for in the first place. I hope that CS covers this in a way that generates intelligent now that the initial post was removed because, like you said, it's definitely newsworthy :)
Cracked Sidewalks must also have "ghosts in the machine" with the way "posts sometimes 'disappear' around there."
Normally, I wouldn't really have a problem with that post on CS, but I don't really think it added much value or shed any new light on anything in regards to MU basketball, which is almost always the case with the posts that those guys put out (which are almost always excellent I might add).
However, given the author's reputation, I (and I'm sure many others here) weren't surprised that he took the opportunity to post that story. I do find it intriguing that mere hours later, the same infamous poster removed the original post from CS and instead posted a story that sheds very, very positive light (ESPN's Jason King lists Marquette as top 10 program on the rise).
The only place I can find it on ESPN.com is on the MU page right now, so that was pretty short-lived. Not even on the College B-Ball page.
I know there's another thread but now it's national news. >:(

I know, my point was that it shouldn't have been taken down on CS. :P
