An interesting facet of this season's schedule is the opportunity early on to get revenge on a number of teams who beat us the last time out. In the first seventeen games, which are scheduled through January 16th, we play six teams for the first time, but our record in the previous game for the remaining eleven opponents is 2 and 9. One of the two wins is last season's NCAA tournament victory over Syracuse. The other is our three point win "at" Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The losses include Winthrop which knocked us off by seven points in 2005.
Overall our record in immediately previous meetings with this year's opponents is 8 and 15.
Yeah Murray, the Winthrop loss should have an asterisk, though. That was during the turtlehead's coaching tenure. Pretty sure we beat them in the deflection category.

Hmm...UW-M and Syracuse? Well, winning by three is as close as we've ever come to losing to them in recent memory, so that's definitely a revenge game. And despite beating Syracuse twice last season, those are our first wins against them, so we're still in a deficit of 3-4 games before we've fully taken revenge on them. I'm all for 17* games of revenge! Go Warriors!

The six teams we face for the first time will be preemptive revenge.

We beat Green Bay last year.
I also consider the Cuse game a revenge game (despite winning last year) since it is their sneaking off into the night to the ACC that has caused this Big East conference mess.

A gold star for you my friend! I thought that might be the case, but I chose to rely on the urinal's assertion that we hadn't previously met. How could I forget Wardle's homecoming? Oi vey!
