Title: MU Gear
Post by: dw3dw3dw3 on November 03, 2011, 07:36:12 AM
Does anyone know if there is more stuff in the MU store at the Union than they have online? Specifically I'm looking for some dri-fit (Nike or UA) long sleeve shirts or quarter zip type pullovers. They don't seem to have anything online except the Jordan shooting shirt which doesn't fit my taste.

BTW.. Finish Line is having the 2 for $40 deal again. Not much here, but could be a good gifting option for the holidays.

2nd BTW.. If you like to mix your church and state

Yes, I was in the store couple of weeks ago and there were somethings I was contemplating on buying but didn't pull trigger. When I went to look online for sweater, it was nowhere to be found.

Yes, the store has a much wider variety and selection.  They have a decent amount of dry fit and UA clothing as well, including hooded sweatshirts.  In the spring/summer, they have the heat gear as well.

their website is not a true indication of the items that they have in the store. Honestly, the website sucks.

Don't know why they call 'em "boyshort" underwear. The model doesn't look like a boy.

They have a light blue Jordan Dri-fit there right now which is probably around $60, besides that Under Armor has 3-4 long sleeve dri-fit shirts which are probably a bit cheaper.

As if something's wrong with that?

They are called boyshorts, because they are worn to attract a boy ...  ;)

I hope it was my computer screen, but the color looked more like the putrid Vikings than MU.

Yes.  More in the store.  I loaded up reunion weekend since lately I only seem to make it out to Milwaukee every 10 yrs.

Thanks... Can anyone from the store management who reads this respond to as why all the items aren't available online? Licensing agreements?

I worked there for four years as an undergrad and was there when the website was brought in-house.  It was fairly difficult for the store...there isn't a lot of stockroom space to maintain two separate inventories (the actual MUSS and the website) and the inventories were always being messed up.  Never mind the fact that shipping was an absolute nightmare.  From what I understand, the website was outsourced again because the hastle was too much.

I liked the in-house website much more than the new one, but I completely understand why they went the route they did with it.

Thanks... That makes sense... I've been there before (outsource vs diy web stores), once you get past a few orders a day, its hard to half-ass it without a dedicated staff.

Some sort of online product information or even a video walk through for in store only items would be nice if anyone is listening. It would be a good project for a senior year CS or CE student.

It would be nice though if they could at least have pictures of all product and then a disclaimer next to it saying its only available in store.

Yeah it's definitely outsourced now, I was sent the wrong size earlier this summer, and for a return had to mail it back to a location in Florida.
