I posted a few months back (maybe longer) that I expect us to beat Bucky @ the Kohl. Many of you said I was nuts but some thought I was right on. My wife and I won a trip to Vegas and I will be in Caesar's Palace for this game, and yes I will be putting some $ on the line for MU! Not sure how to do a poll, but I was wondering how many of you think Marquette will beat the Badgers this season? GO MU!
To early to tell. Not sure who starts for the Badgers or the rotation for either team. Team chemistry, not sure for either team. If you had to put money down today i would be all
over the Badgers as they have a tremendous point guard and I am not sure about ours. There gym, I wait on that prediction for awhile.
I think we have the better team, but it's never smart to bet against them in the Kohl. Pretty sure Duke, Purdue, and Ohio State have all lost there as top-5 teams. We can do it, but it won't be easy.
Don't gamble when you have an emotional attachment to the teams involved. Just sayin' :)
Have fun, though!
In college basketball, the advantage to the home team is unreal. I wouldn't put much money on MU or any team on the road against a solid opponent. I'd bet just enough to have a little fun and buy dinner if MU does beat the odds and wins!
I can't wait....
Somebody decided to carve a UW pumpkin this year...I had to fight back:

The only real reason to bet on a game is to make that game worth watching. Based on that you should never bet on your home team. Packers won on Sunday, but did not cover. A losing bet on that game would of detracted from enjoying that win. I learn a long time ago not to bet on MU game. Worst bet was the logic of betting on Illinois (who I thought was going to win) against MU, because I would be happy if MU won or I would be happy if I won my bet. Illinios was favored by two and won by one. Lost the game and the bet. I have not bet on a MU game since and I am much happier for it.
I think we win the game on a neutral floor or at home. At the Kohl......no. House of horrors for visitors. I know one of the ratings systems (Sagarin?) gives a plus 4 pt rating for playing at home. The Kohl should be a +15. It is that big a factor. And why they should never be forecast to finish in the bottom half of the B1G. They start out assuming a 9-0 home conference record. 1-8 on the road gets them to the tourney. If their road games are at Iowa, Northwestern, IU, Penn St......., suddenly they are 13-5 and a contender, when all they have done is win at home and beat bottom feeders. Which explains the inevitable 3-4 seed and early flameout.

1. The ONLY real reason to bet on a game is to make $.
2. Based on that you should never bet on your home team??????
Based on what?
3. MU 12 pt dogs at home----should have won outright---F Garcia at the buzzer. MU covers. Few days later MU goes to E Car giving 12 pts. Took E Car. Very close game. If you are going to bet, know your team. Louis gets love and Crean always played up for big games. He also, however, played down for teams below us in the standings.
4. Bo has won something like ~99% of the games he has coached at the Kohl with kids from the Dells and Port and rural Minnesota. Stay away from the bet and enjoy the game.

Most betters do not make money.
