Is this legal?
I don't see why it wouldn't be. The Heat played at the Al this past season. If there were recruits there, then I think that could be an issue, but other than that, I think it is ok.
At what point would you figure it was illegal for players to play basketball with each other? If Calipari was there coaching - I could maybe see issue - playing pickup basketball... come on, we're just now stretching to find things to bust LBJ for.
Even back when I was at MU, it wasn't uncommon for Bucks players to show up for pick-up games with the MU team.
Nothing wrong with it.
Just becomes an issue if the pro were to talk any recruit about going to the school, or if a coach were to appear and use it as a practice or drill.
UNC had an issue with this a few years ago. I believe it was Sean May and a couple other former players playing a pick-up game against recruits. Since LeBron isn't a former UK player and it doesn't sound like any recruits were involved, it's nothing. If Rondo or Bledsoe were talking with recruits, then it would be something.
Aren't we forgetting that DWade, along with Wes and JFB, was back at MU in August playing with the team? It's not a violation to play with current team members.
Apparently Robert Jackson wade and JFB are on campus today. FWIW

I saw the freshman Tony Smith dunk on Terry Cummings in the rec center. Twice. This is nothing new. Move along.

That would have been AWESOME!
Robert Jackson, Jimmy, and Lazar have been on campus all week hoopin' it up with the team...
Just out of curiosity when playes like Lazar and Jimmy come back to play with the guys and be on campus for a little, do they stay in Humphrey? Clearly they are Pros and can afford a hotel, but you always hear about how close the guys are and everything so I am just wondering.

Technically, they are not NBA players with the lockout, so Kentucky or any other college may do as they wish with these basketball stars. And Cbowe3, quit jersey chasing ;D
Is Joe taking classes because I have been seeing him quite a bit
It has been stated on this board that Joe (and Dwight) are taking classes in hopes of finishing up their degrees by the end of the fall semester.
FWIW- There are NBA rules regarding NBA teams playing their current players against draft prospects. We have already explained this wasn't a violation, but just wanted to throw out other possible problems.
