The voting, I'm assuming, only counted when you posted the vote to your Facebook profile. It was a pretty invasive social media jerk off. The trick, that I found, was to click my own privacy buton and only post votes that were visible to my wife. I'm relatively sure that they counted and that she was the only one that got spammed... not that Butler won :(
