the fat ass chicks, sheety weather, or campus that can't compare. Anyone ever spent some time in Providence? It sucks, as does PC vs MU. Losing recruits to the Friars? Really? Does Ernie D. or Badnews Barnes have any remaining eligibility?
It's pretty much his hometown school. Not that different from Vander choosing us over Arizona. And he'll start as a freshman, here he'd likely platoon at least until his sophomore year.

i spend a few days in providence every summer when I head to the coast...river fire is cool, the oysters are great and federal hill has the best "little italy" i have been to in the US (probably ties with Philly). pretty sure none of that means jack ---- to a recruit, but maybe he prefers dunkin' donuts to usinger sausages?
Mmmmm. Dunkin donuts
Listen, I'm as crushed as everyone that we didn't get Dunn. To be honest, everyday (hour) I logged on to this site the past two weeks, I was hoping to see "...And the next Warrior is Kris Dunn" run across the top banner.
As upsetting as it is that we lost him to Providence, somehow it makes it easier to digest (like swallowing a handful of nails) that he committed there, instead of UCONN. It avoids the "rich get richer" mindset.
It's been a tough couple days on the recruiting front. Hence the need for the season to start asap. Season couldn't come soon enough.
Go Marquette!
I can't speak to PC v. MU, but obviously I'd go with MU since it's my alma mater. As for the City of Providence, it's a nice little city. Right on the water, someone already mentioned Federal Hill, it has a good business core. It's going in the right direction. So I wouldn't say it sucks. Once could easily have said the same for Milwaukee not all that long ago and look at it now.
If recruits were basing their decision on cities, DePaul, St. John's and Georgetown would battle for the Big East title every single year. It's got nothing to do with anything. Storrs, Syracuse, Providence, South Bend...and Milwaukee, for that matter...are not exactly the most cosmopolitan cities in the country.

Easy decision, for me anyway.
I am from Providence, and it is a really nice city...he wanted to stay close to home. UCONN is in the middle of friggin nowhere they don't seem to struggle.

Perhaps my priorities are a little out of whack, but I would never go to UConn simply due to the fact that Storrs is in a dry county. :o

Heading there for a week in late September. Any suggestions? Staying near Federal Hill...Hyatt Place I think.
Federal Hill has enough restaurants for the week, it's also very close to the main hub of Providence. The area around Brown particularly Thayer Street is a unique area, and has some good restaurants as well.
