Maybe this will take away some of the local media attention on MU's recent run of bad press.

A whole lot of bad with this one. Getting stopped, leaving the scene, running from police and a blood alchohol level of .228. Yikes.
squirmy.
This kid deserves whatever punishment he gets.
A series of really bad decisions that will no doubt have serious consequences for the young man's future. Nothing to rip Jeter or the UWM program for and certainly nothing for MU fans to rejoice over.
He plays for U Dubja M. It may never even hit the JS.
(a touch of cynicism, not enough for teal)
If you can't outrun the Cedar Rapids police department then you don't deserve a D1 scholarship.
Seriously though:
1. They'll figure out that it's you if they know it's your car, so no use running. Tough to think that all of the way through when you're that drunk, though.
2. I'm glad a K9 unit never showed up in my younger days of running away from busted HS house parties. That would have made running from fat cops way less fun
I am surprised that nobody mentioned he was a junior college player.

Unless your Lance Briggs.
I am not recieving any enjoyment from this kid getting in trouble. I just personally think that drunk drivers should be punished. If someone can lose their job from it, why can't a player lose his scholarship?

Who loses their job over drunk driving? Truckers? I've never known anyone to lose their job over a DWI in my field.

If your job requires travel by car, you can definitely lose your job.

Anyone who works for the government.

Unless of course you are an elected official - such as in the Wisconsin Assembly or Wisconsin Attorney General. ;)
