0 Freshmen and 1 Sophomore. Maybe there was too much backlash for all of the accolades Barnes got preseason last year.

We should keep this list handy for the4 postseason (Where we will see DJO, Crowder, and Jamil)

Ron Artest should have changed his name to Yahoo Love.

MU Athletics tweeted that DJO will be named pre-season BE Player of the Year.

"#mubb RT @jonrothstein: A Big East assistant coach told me today that Darius Johnson-Odom will be Big East preseason Player of the Year."

I saw that and was pleasantly surprised. I would have expected Ashton Gibbs or Jeremy Lamb to get that nod. Still, DJO is undoubtedly first-team material.

I was thinking Jeremy Lamb too, but after talking with a coworker that frequents these forums we were thinking that the fact that he's only a Sophomore might hurt him for PoY voting.  He really was unbelievable last year, though.

Lamb was unbelievable in the NCAA Tournament last season. You could probably even throw the BE Tourney in as well. For the season as a whole, he was a solid player who looked like a lottery pick at times and looked like a freshman at other times (probably because he was a freshman who will eventually be a lottery pick  ;)). Don't get me wrong, he's a phenomenal player and I would have loved to see him in a Marquette uniform but it will be interesting to see how he adjusts to being "the man" after playing second-fiddle to one of the best players in the country last season.

Heard someone connected with Nova say this last week. Was absolutely gobsmacked.

I saw this and assumed it was more an opinion of the assistant...are these things voted on by the coaches this far in advance of the season?
