Title: Big East Meetings
Post by: ATWizJr on August 03, 2011, 03:47:17 PM
Per today's Projo:  "We've never, ever had discussions about dropping members", Commissioner John Marinatto said.  "In fact, quite the opposite.  That's not on the table."

It isn't that the BE would drop members...but that doesn't mean that the football members won't leave.

Well, what does "In fact, quite the opposite. ..." mean, then?

I took it to mean that they aren't looking to drop members...and they might be talking expansion.

But that doesn't really mean anything.  I think a "Mountain West" scenario is much more likely - when in the mid 90s the 8 teams that became the MWC broke off from the 16-team WAC outside of the conference meetings.
