Don't forget, more Pro-Am games tonight - games tip off at 6:15!!!
Wish I could go, but I'm working. I'll definitely be out Saturday, though.
Vander played out of this world tonight. He was the best player on the court wig jamail jamil miles mckay and jerry west. Got to the rim.at will and set his team mates up non stop. He took a huge step today by finishing with contact at the rim after blowing by his first defender.
Wes and him have been talking some smack.
Looking forward to the Madison Memorial Mano-a-mano.

Maybe being stonger will make a difference. However, last year in non-conference games Blue got to rim okay. In the Big East he found it a completely different story.

As crazy as this may sound, perhaps Vander breaking the schools record in the Pro Agility drill gave him a huge boost of needed confidence. In my view, confidence is really all Vander needs to be great. He was humbled big time last year. Think he just needs to stop worrying about jump shot form, etc., and just play the game. Though it is just summer league, hopefully this is the start of a good run of hoop/confidence for Vander.
It's good to hear Vander beat the agility record. But we never doubted his athleticism.
We just want to see how that translates to the hardwood.
And stronger doesn't mean smarter...and his shooting needs to drop some jaws because the League doesn't want guys who are freakishly athletic guards with NO jay.

IMO, he didn't lack confidence at all... perhaps it was just the opposite.

I felt he looked very unsure of himself last year, particularly when the Big East season rolled around. Very timid in his drives to the hoop...and seemed to "hope" the ball to the hoop. Perhaps there was a smattering of arrogance displayed by Vander, which at times can closely mirror confidence...but the kid had a lot of pressure/expectations on him..and he is very young for his class having just turned 19 a few weeks ago as a sophomore..
Hopefully he keeps working hard, and as Buzz says, your confidence comes from your work...

Even at his age, being better than The Logo is a heck of an accomplishment.
:D

Agree. Plenty of bravado, not much (understandably) confidence.
