FTA:
The team will be going on an eight-day tour through Belgium, Holland, and London to play basketball with the Global Sports Academy. From August 9th to August 17th, they will be playing five different European basketball teams while also attending cultural events and seeing historical sites of the world.
Kevin Baggett of Rider University, will coach the team traveling to Europe in August. In addition to Kadeem Batts and Gerard Coleman of Providence, the roster includes forward Nick Pascale and guard Mike Venezia from Colgate; center Kevin Gaines from Cincinnati; center Dorian Tyler from the University of Illinois at Chicago; forward Jamail Jones from Marquette; center Michael Bradley from Connecticut; center Caleb Patterson from Missouri State University; and guard Justin Drummond from Loyola-Maryland.
Good news for Jamail! I'm glad to see these guys finding ways to get in some competitive games. Especially glad for this and DJO playing in the NC pro-am. I hope Crowder's finding a way to stay competitive.
Skat must be Chicos to have found this info on the web.

Chicos and I work installing DirecTV together. He drives the van, but he lets me hold the ladder when he's installing the dishes.

Getting a good view from there?
Just curious...
Does an athlete get selected by a team?
Does he get recommended by a coach or assistant coach?
Does he apply to be on a touring team?

I honestly have no clue.
Here's the website of the NFP that runs the team he's playing with: http://www.globalsportsacademyus.com/
Edit: From the "Services" section:

Every year GSA selects three or four experienced Head and Assistant Coaches in various sports and in different areas of the counrty to assemble a "Select All-Star" team to experience the thrill of international sports competition, attend cultural events and see the historical sites of the world. As stated in its mission, the primary purpose of GSA is to support athletic competition between equally matched teams or athletes at all levels both domestically and internationally, as well as, support the local community's interscholastic education and sports program.
It doesn't say much, but it's a Select team. Under the "Resources" tab there's a Student Athlete Application and Information Packet. Maybe Jamail found this on his own and was selected from a pool of applicants? I have no clue :)

I pictured this immediately:

I don't know specifically about this team, but if it is like some of the other all-star type travelling teams, the organizing group sends info to the coaches who encourage their player to apply. My guess is that Buzz encouraged Jamail to do this because he wants him to play a big role this year.
