Jamil's homecoming story. Not much new news.
Anyone know how a year in the program helped Jamil's strength and explosiveness? It seems we usually get a pre-season story about how much guys have added across a number of measures. I guess maybe that follows boot camp.
There has been talk that he has added strength, but he doesn't have a huge frame. I can't remember if I read this here or elsewhere, but he is about 215 and they want him to be heavier, but he just can't keep the weight on.
He has always been explosive though.

He has also always been a thin guy. I know Durant is 6'10, but Jamil is thin like Durant.
I've watched Jamil Wilson play since grade school. He's never been Durant thin. Always a solid frame. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Jamil is a great talent...a rare 6'7 guy who can play guard at a young age and handle the ball well. The big questions for Jamil imo for next year are...is he ready to bang inside and play partly on the interior at both ends and not drift to perimeter too often? Yes Jamil can rebound, however he still has always been more interested in the perimeter. The other question is will he take plays off or not, disappear for plays or not. Will he grind every trip down the floor? Both ends. If Jamil can handle those things, he'll do fine. I'm not concerned if he can score, handle the ball, or rebound, mid-range game, etc...I already know he is athletic and can do those things. Consistency and focus. Play with pace, less dribble, etc...

Kevin Durant is 6'9 230 lbs
Jamil Wilson is 6'7 215 lbs
its a fair comparison... If anything, Jamil carries less weight per inch of height.
He has good size and strength for a college small forward. To make him play power forward would be a mistake. I am sure that if Buzz feels he is taking time off on plays, Blue will be put in the game for him. He will have to learn to play hard every play.
The article backs up what I have been saying since last year's pro am. He can play point guard.

There are definately going to be times this year when Jamil is going to be guarding the "4." I don't that can be avoided because of the rotations. There may even be times this year when he is the tallest guy on the floor for MU. There are all sorts of things that Buzz can do with the line-up this year.
Vander broke the school record in the pro agility drill today
VEEZYV1792 oh yeah the all-time record I set for pro-agility here at marquette i broke it today and shoutout to my boy Junior Cadougan he second!!
VEEZYV1792 Workout was amazing this morning our entire team is improving!! Finiishing this work then relaxing a bit before we hoop..Grinding..H&H
I'm more excited that Junior was second frankly. It's amazing the strides in strength and conditioning that these guys make.

He is obviosuly now fully recovered from his injury. It really was a big mistake not redshirting him.

I think that says something about Vander's athleticism. Especially as a sophomore.
Vander needs to add an outside shot to his game; then he will be a real factor!
