2 1/2 cups finely diced onions
10 (8-ounce) cans tomato sauce
7 1/2 cups water
2 cups minus 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 1/4 cups Worcestershire sauce
2 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/4 cups soy sauce
1 to 3 tablespoons salt to taste
1 teaspoon paprika
3 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon chili powder
2 tablespoons black pepper
2 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cloves
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 1/2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
