From CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein, who is well connected in Big East circles.
JonRothstein: Sources say that MoMo Jones is unlikely 2 transfer to a BE school in metro area. Hearing UCONN, Marq, + Maryland have shown recent interest.

Any dude named Momo is fine in my book.
Agreed. You really have to be a bad ass to get by being called MoMo. All for him!
I have it from a reliable source that Buzz has offered him - - but, he has to change his name to JoJo in order to fit in with the rest of the "J" players.
De-committed from Louisville in February '08...De-committed from Virginia Tech in March '09...Released from letter of intent to USC in June '09...Transferred from Arizona...
And I thought I had commitment issues! ;D

Wouldn't the release from the LOI have more to do with Tim Floyd getting canned than anything else?
I watched about 20 Zona games last year and as good as Mo Mo is, I would rather have us focus on HS seniors. I think we have enough good players coming and Mo Mo doesn't fill a need. Just my $.02.

On the other hand: We have 2 scholarship openings and we just lost a Junior that could have contributed next year (if he had recovered from shoulder surgery) in EWill. It'd be nice to fill that gap.
I just don't see the need. He would be eligilble as a junior in 2012-13, but we'd have Junior running the point with Taylor and Wilson behind him as sophomores. Then in Jones' senior year we'd likely have 2 competent PGs that are also a year younger. If he were eligible in 2011, I'd be all for it, but considering the timing I just don't see how ge really fits.

How does a 6' SG trapped in a PG's body fill EWills spot? Listen, I like Momo a lot. I was happy as hell he lead Zona to the Elite with DWill - but as soon as Sean Miller brought in competition at the PG spot and couldn't promise Momo the starting spot - we wanted out. Also, Miller was scared Momo could become a problem if his minutes went down. This just doesn't seem like the fit we need right now.
I'm down with Wanaah Bail too.
mojo jojo
Thought I am enamored with the idea of Momo in a MU uni, I do not relish the future threads berating the "small ball" lineups Buzz would be using.
<----- Likes anyone named Mo. ;D
I think Buzz works almost as hard to recruit a player as posters here work to not recruit the player Buzz is recruiting.

Don't get this? So because I like Momo's game, but I just don't think it fits what Marquette needs, that makes me recruiting against him?

I am not necessarily pointing a fingure at you, but it seems to be a common thing on this board to say why we should not recruit a player. A lot of times it is based on we should recruit X instead even if X has no interest.
Correct on the dropping out of the commit to USC. Same with Williams. Thank goodness for that.
I don't doubt Jones' sincerity about his grandmother, but honesty also compels one to report that he probably wasn't going to be starting at the point next year (Josiah Turner and Jordin Mayes).
