It'll be interesting to see if MU cracks the preseason AP top 20. I feel like ESPN's Andy Katz gives a lot of praise to MU's program year after year.

Well, if he doesn't, then how can he pimp Buzz for any job that comes open?
6 BE teams in his top 20. Good showing.

Good showing, and I think ND is being underrated by many because of all their seniors last year. But with Abro and Martin returning, and promising players like Thomas and Atkins, they should again be a team that shows up in the polls come December or January. Villanova, West Virginia and Georgetown are all teams that could also show up in the polls throughout the year. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see another 10+ teams from the Big East make it in next year. In fact, I'd probably be more surprised to see single digits than double.
Luke Winn on SI just released his...he has MU at 22. He has Cuse, Louisville, Pitt and Cincinnati in the top 10, with Uconn at 13. West Virginia is 26 and Nova is 28. Stacked again.

is anyone else thinking that 13 is a little too high?
13 feels a bit optimistic to me too.
love the team but we've got lots of question marks.
I think 13 sounds a little high...Winn's 22 sounds a little more accurate...BUT....
We have only lost two contributors off last year's team. And one of the replacements is a highly rated player with one year D1 experience, two on the practice floor. A good recruiting class coming in.
13 is not out of the question by any means.

Bet if you knew as much about any of teams 10-17, as you did about mu, you would think the same thing about them.
13 does see a little high to me... I also could see Cincy, Cuse, Pitt, UCONN or L'Ville winning the BE this year - all will be very tough. Either way, the top 1/2 of the league is stacked once again...
Whether 13 or 22...I am pleased, because:
1 the ESPN highlights always cover every top 25 team's games and results.
2 Web site Power rankings, opinion pieces, etc., all focus on the top 25.
3 We will constantly be in the nationwide chatter.
4 Any recruit will read something about MU, everyday.
and
5 Staying in the top 25 all year means I wont miss a thing, due to us being just one of the "other" unreported games.

Agreed. As to th rank, low 20s sound about right at this point. Lot depends upon how fast Jamil Wilson has an impact.
Assuming a bulk of the minutes go to Cadougan, DJO, Blue, Crowder, Wilson, Otule and Gardner, I really think that the big keys are going to be Wilson and Blue. We pretty much know what we've got in DJO, Crowder and Otule. Cadougan and Gardner have each shown flashes of what they can do, but have also shown their limitations. Blue and Wilson remain mysteries. They have each played 1 season of college basketball and neither has been particularly impressive. Each of them also has all the tools, it's a matter of them putting it all together. If they can do it, #13 seems very accurate.

Cincy? No, not yet at least.
