Title: Bleacher Report on JFB and Leur's draft chances
Post by: mikem91288 on May 09, 2011, 07:55:30 PM
Interesting piece. Some are saying he could go in the first round, which I have not heard before. Also say he is more of an NBA desired player than Leur.

Also, talks about him working out somewhere else to prepare, not on campus with Todd?

Sorry to do this, but does that mean he won't be joining me and my roommates at graduation on the 22nd?

Doubt it, he has said on his Twitter feed that he is working out in Sarasota, splitting time between working out there and in his native Texas. Hasn't mentioned Milwaukee in quite a few weeks. So unless he already had enough credits to graduate (which is not a long shot), he will not be joining you at graduation.

It was discussed in a past thread that Jimmy is not graduating in order to prepare for the draft. Lazar did the same thing. IMO smart decision for a college senior.

I thought he was foregoing his final credits at Marquette to someday run for governor.

OK, first of all, it's Bleacher Report...take that for what it's worth.  And just so you know who you are dealing with here.

That being said, the idea that Leuer might as well be a small forward because he can shoot and rebounds poor for his position is laughable.  Who is he going to guard in the NBA?  He had trouble moving his feet against Butler, and he is going to guard the 3 in the NBA?  Yeah, match him up against Lebron or Pierce and see how well that works.

At best, Leuer is UW's answer to Steve Novak.  Basically a perimeter shooter that will keep defenses honest.  But my guess is that his future is Europe, with a game very similar to former Badger Mike Wilkinson.

I was out of town for most of my Senior year.  You'd be surprised how much you can get done just mailing in your assignments and coming back for tests.

Jimmy will want to walk.  If Jimmy doesn't want to walk his mom will want him to walk.  It's a proud moment seeing your child accomplish something like graduating from a university!

You can always come back to school and finish your degree.  You only get drafted once, so it's best for him to put his all into the draft right now.

I thought I remembered hearing that someone had completed all of their credits in December.  I thought it was Jimmy but maybe not?  Does anyone else remember this?

I also remember this. JFB shouldn't need any spring credits to walk. Maybe he comes back for the ceremony, maybe he keeps working out for the Draft, either way I'm pretty sure he'll be a graduate by the end of the month regardless.
